Castle Combe Summer Action Day 8th Sept 2012! Brisky stand & track!

Featured Replies

There were quite a lot of Skodas not on the Brisky stand. They've either never found us or are happy on whatever forum they are on currently.

I think i spotted about 2 or 3 Skoda's on the VAGOwners stand. While i'm a member of that group, i'm hardly active and glad i stuck with the 'home' forum of Briskoda. ;)

Seems the green Time Attack GT-R (with about 900+bhp) had a bit of a moment yesterday...

Ouch! New wing and some panel pulling and it should be fine. Did someone say there was a few fires too?

ok so having now been through and catalogued all the Pasty pictures i'm struggling to match a few final cars/pictures to users

Black Fabia - YZH

Silver mk1 Octy - EOY

Black mk1 Octy Estate

Black mk1 Octy Hatch - standard wheels

Black mk1 Octy Hatch - Silver BSS

Black mk1 Octy Hatch - Grey BBS

Although that said i guess it doesnt really matter too much...

II do also have pictures of most non-Skoda stuff that featured - the Lexus definitely. I'll get them posted when i get home.

YZH is mine pasty :) can you upload the pictures you have of me?

Cheers,

Ilmor

Ahhhh all becomes clear

Now you say that i knew i recognised the you from the frist How Fast event!

I'll post up what i have

Although I'm a new bod on here I would like to say a big thanks to Mr and Mrs Octygone (I had the other black Yeti that looked scruffy next to Octygones and I'd only cleaned her in that very morning :giggle: ) and everyone for making me feel welcome last Saturday even though I had to leave early. Some cracking vids and photos one here, well done!. Briskoda is by far the most friendly place to be.

Lexus & ilmor as requested

Many thanks pastyboy, I'll pass them on to him.

Unfortnatley, due to the delays, my missus couldn't get on track, at the correct time for the session......We got queing @ 3pm, by 4 still waiting, and then there was another session then a drift session. Unfortunatley we had to leave, as we had to get back to Derbyshire for pre arranged meal!

Sorry we couldn't come on with you :-(

Vids uploading now, only 421 minutes to go.. bloody 1080p!

Wow, that's taking some time.

Maybe you should have stuck to 720 like me. :giggle:

It's done!

1080p quality of my poor lines and excess speed through corners such as quarry which hammered my left hand tyres resulting in this on an 8 week old tyre after 15 mins...

No sound and 6 minutes of no traffic made quite a relaxing watch. :)

Lines looked pretty good other than early apexing Quarry (my car prefers late), but that is excessive tyre wear.

You must have been going for it! :)

Hah yea it was a bit boring, I cant stand to hear myself waffle on so decided to take the sound out :p

Try being at the back next time.

It's more of a challenge. :D

I find I always waffle on when I have a passenger.

Don't know why, just can't help myself... nerves maybe.

Yeah im much the same! Our casual chats while hooning around in the gtr made me laugh :D

I didn't find the drive boring but to watch back as an onlooker would be. Id rather silence than overlay some awful music

The look of your tyres only means that they were used for something they were not designed for and that you were taking excessive speed into corners :). Racing tyres when driven properly should have the top layer looking like melted (which it had in fact) but without holes ( overheated tyre) and chunks missing(tyre construction not strong enough for the loads applied). Mind you, as you know, where you loose grip you are not going anywhere fast so power sliding at high speed into corners is not the fastest way of driving around a race track, despite some F1 drivers doing it from time to time ;).

A couple of pics I took from the day. Had a brilliant time and was great to meet some new people.

And one of mine for good measure.

Thanks for this Martyn, it goes someway to making up for the disapointment caused by the problems with the car . Thanks again

Thanks for the heads up Martyn. Saw a couple of mine there.

What a difference a week makes... this day last week we were whizzing round Castle Combe, seven days later

and I've got some scantily clad young lady hanging onto my rear spoiler for a photoshoot for a calendar or something..

Let's hope it's something akin to this
