It's just semi-gloss black in a rattle can from the DIY shop. Nothing special.

Catch can refitted. Not where I planned but it wasn't going to work where I wanted it.

Happy with it here though.

Yeah it is. I'm over laying under the car for now, going to take it to a garage with a ramp on Monday and get it sorted.

sounds like mine did with 3 studs lol i know how that feels  engine bay looks bang on

Very tastey looking car, May i ask the first thing you did to get rid of all the grease in the Bay, Steam wash?, ....??????

  • Author

It has never got that greasy. I've only ever used damp cloths or dry cloths to dust it down.

Nice.

Dropped it at my favourite independent garage today so they can get the exhaust sorted. No weird codes, nothing disconnected so I'm hoping it's just the downpipe gasket leaking and causing the weird running.

Exhaust is sorted. There was a pinhole near the O2 sensor but my joints were okay. Must have been spilled liquids evaporating off that I thought was a leak.

I tested it a bit today, made the turbo glow in the dark:

Goes like a rocket in first, not quite right in other gears.

Seems to be running lean and does lots of popping on lift-off.

This was more for noise than anything, it picked up the popping at the end.

Silly question rob but have you had it mapped to your setup ?

And have you logged it to check ??

Yes - Got an ECU with the kit with an R-Tech map, which I sent to Ben at Shark, and he has used it as the basis for an STS map.

I thought I was logging yesterday but I managed to just save a snapshot of values when idling - will work that one out :D

Working with Ben on refining it, at great distance :D
