  • And finally I have a build week, albeit unconfirmed. Week 25...which is five weeks away so probably looking at early/mid July collection.

  • Hi All, New yeti collected today (2nd Jan) from Rainworth Skoda in Mansfield Regency green 170 elegance with Gobi and Annarpurnas. Well pleased with the new motor, far superior brakes to my old 140

Thanks for that hopefully not long before I take delivery

Mine should be getting built next week

Hi Marie

No justice is there I order mine nearly 2 months later than you and mine gets built a week earlier ( Or thats what I have been told )

Yes as I've said before...bloody queue jumper

Now confirmed build week 25 (next week)

I think I'm going to plan my leave for work as week 29, with the option of adding end of week 28 or beginning of week 30 to that if required.

I hope to stay in the area for a day or two after collection incase of any minor problems and also to explore the midlands and get some retail therapy

You should get it just in time for the couple of weeks in the year you can use the sunroof then! :giggle:

To be honest, I've already had my roof open during the three weeks I've had the car more often than I thought I would in a whole summer - but now the rains have returned.

Thats another reason to stay in the midlands a few days, as I wont get to use the sunroof much when I come back up here :giggle:

Sun roof open again yesterday, think I've used it more in the last 2 weeks than in the last 2 years :o

Hi, new to Briskoda and new to Skoda. Might not actually make it as an owner - after months of speccing, I ordered a 1.8TSI 4x4 SE Plus at the end of February with a provisional 6 month lead time. Got a call today and hoped it was to notify me of the build week, but no - it was to tell me that as of yesterday Skoda have stopped making the Yeti 1.8 petrol engines. No warning, no fulfilling orders already taken. Just 'your order has been cancelled'. Very disappointed.

That's appalling customer treatment.

Did they offer an alternative?

Were you just notified by your dealer or Skoda UK?

6 months waiting time ? Current delivery time is around 12 weeks. Was order with dealer?

Others seem to have got 1.8 cars well within your order time scale. Hope you get it sorted.

I feel your pain, not good, would a nearly new one be an option?

Not good at all. I ordered a 1.8 L&K on 26th February (from memory). I've been driving it for a month. First name and shame the company that took your order and second contact a Skoda dealer with a good reputation and see if anything close is available in the pipeline. If it was a Skoda dealer Skoda UK should be involved and try to help if it was a broker then their reputation should be affected.

These entries are from the July 2013 brochure:

Four wheel drive

1.8 TSI 152PS 4x4

1.8 TSI 160PS 4x4

so presumably they are still taking orders for these options!

Just been told my SE+ Yeti will be built in August so I will get it in early September. Six months from flash to bang, but I did opt for Rosso Brunello.

Thanks for your consoling words! The online brochure "Effective: June13" now says "Stock vehicles only, please consult your retailer." After hearing from Hayselden, I spoke to Skoda UK Customer Services who investigated and confirmed the position and said it was down to factory rationalisation and was therefore out of their hands. "All I can do is apologise." Cheers.

It was the 1.8 4x4 petrol engines that were taking the 5/6 months, non-4x4s and diesels less, apparently. My only alternative is a diesel, but I really wanted the petrol. And I go to the back of the diesel queue.

My own stupid fault for being really picky I guess! But I'm still flummoxed at a business practice that doesn't say: 'stop taking orders, once we've fulfilled these, there'll be no more 1.8 petrol engines' rather than just ignoring bona fide customer orders. I guess it's down to the forthcoming facelift.

Nearly new would be an option, but the 1.8 petrol 4x4 SE Pluses are like hens' teeth. I've found a 61 plate I'm testdriving tomorrow, but not having specced it as a new build it won't have the exact bells and whistles I was after, including the space saver which I understand is a fiddly retrofit. However if I like it, it'll be a Yeti to drive until I can get back on a post-facelift waiting list (that is if they bring back my preferred engine choice!)

The space saver is not a fiddly retrofit.

My current Greenline is running around with the spare swapped over from my first Yeti.

The Dealer can swap over the parts from another Yeti or you can retrofit yourself.

The bits for the spare wheel kit can be fitted in an easy 30 minutes, and are certainly not "fiddly".

The story of 1.8 4x4's taking 6 months is not true, I ordered a 1.8 L&K on 4 th of March and took delivery 2 weeks ago. And as Graham says, spare wheel easy to retrofit, I did it in my 1st Yeti, in less than 1/2 hour.

Great - I'll have the conversation with the dealer tomorrow about the spare kit then - thanks.

Don't know why mine was taking so long then - am a bit gutted.

I suspect that is the well known SUK interpretation, 8ps difference between 2 models doesn't weem right.

Fred

Well, went and test drove the 61-plate 1.8 TSI petrol 4x4 on Saturday and I'm picking it up on Friday. Why on earth drop this engine? It's a fabulous drive.

It is a nice engine - I did my original test drive in a 1.8 TSI it certainly goes well.
