  • Update: In Transit from factory to Germany Port My monster is born and on its way

  • And finally I have a build week, albeit unconfirmed. Week 25...which is five weeks away so probably looking at early/mid July collection.

  • Hi All, New yeti collected today (2nd Jan) from Rainworth Skoda in Mansfield Regency green 170 elegance with Gobi and Annarpurnas. Well pleased with the new motor, far superior brakes to my old 140

I used to think I had patience, but seem to be getting more impatient with age.

My car is getting built this week. Does it take the whole week to be built or a day or what?

What will the next update be? Emden maybe?

<drums fingers on table impatiently> :@

Mine was built in the week and I was lucky that the transfer to dock/ship was just before Christmas 2012 and the VAG Group had a number of their vehicles to shift to the UK so there was no long delay in waiting to fill a shipment. It arrived at Grimsby within two weeks of being built, then a week at the dealers awaiting release

Only takes a day, calm down dear good things come to them that wait.

Your drive has 3 leaves on it pressure wash them off, and your path looks a little dusty :giggle::rofl:

Big brother has eyes EVERYWHERE! :giggle:

Following on from my earlier post to say that my Yeti was being built last week I had a phone call from Callum at Alex Lawrie Liverpool to say that I should be able to pick it up next week , I placed the order on the 16th May If I do pick it up next week that will be 6 weeks total lead time,is that some sort of record?

I am well impressed with that.

I tried several dealers in the area before selecting Alex Lawrie were I got the best deal , service so far has been great and now a fast delivery (not sure what influence the dealer has on delivery)

^ Is yours at Emden just now Wiganyeti?

Hi Marie

Sorry I do not have that info I was just informed today that it should be ready for me to take delivery next week . I was not expecting it for weeks, hope yours is not far behind

I would think it's left Emden to set a pick up of next week. When I spoke to SUK about my last delivery I was informed that it can take up to two weeks to get a boat.

Ah ok, I was just trying to gauge the time its currently taking from build to Emden to UK etc.

But I suppose there is a luck of the draw element to it.

How long is a piece of string as they say? But to break it down it must be manufacture, train to Emden, parked for the boat based on destination, boat, unload customs, parked according to transporter route, transporter, dealer and PDI. Or something like that. I was originally told about 3 to 4 weeks.

Its not like I can just drop everything (calm down Bob) and head down south even if it arrives early.

My plan is to go down week 29 to collect, I'm just killing time trying to track its progress for fun

We've all been there and got the tee shirt and sometimes it's a case of just wanting to know.

My monster is born and on its way :hi:

Time to do the final nest building  , ( snowfoam, leather, polish, tyre shine, dash cleaner, smelly tree to hang from the mirror, bird poo wipes :giggle: )

:wait: and make sure the pressure washer is still working

:hi: Not long now

You forgot the furry dice :giggle:

About time too! Mine finally arrived after a six month wait. That was 12 months and 12,000 miles ago, and I still remember the anxiety, particularly the final few weeks! If you need a diversion try watching the pitch drop experiment - it will teach you real patience!

Following on to the above call today from Callum to say my Yeti was with them, I called there this afternoon to sort some paperwork and pay the balance. It still had all the plastic wrapping on but it looked great I pick it up Tuesday morning.

I hope you were sitting down when you found out!

Bag packed and ready to go?

It's a bit like waiting for the contractions to start, the difference is when the yeti finally arrives, at least you'll get a manual!

You might get a manual but you'll still need this forum to understand how it all works.

After my elation last week, I had a call from the dealer this morning.

I'm not going to collect mine on Friday now.

The car is on Motability and they wont release it until my personal plate is transferred. :(

On the bright side, I didn't want to drive a 13 plate car anyway.

So Mr DVLA, pull yer ruddy finger out.

There's always something 'in the system' that screws things up - hope it gets sorted soon.
