Waiting List

Featured Replies

Already saw it :wall:

I wouldn't have missed the excitement of the wait for anything

Enjoy your new car Vectis, and please post some pics when you get a chance.

I'll try and get some pics up at the weekend, I had to go for it, it was too good a deal to turn down.

  • Update: In Transit from factory to Germany Port My monster is born and on its way

  • And finally I have a build week, albeit unconfirmed. Week 25...which is five weeks away so probably looking at early/mid July collection.

  • Hi All, New yeti collected today (2nd Jan) from Rainworth Skoda in Mansfield Regency green 170 elegance with Gobi and Annarpurnas. Well pleased with the new motor, far superior brakes to my old 140

Be warned it can become addictive (and expensive). Like you the Yeti was our first new car purchase. Then whilst waiting (6mths) for it to arrive we went and test drove a Citigo.

Now we have 2 new cars with about 2 weeks between them !!!

Now there I'll have to admit... I do look at other models as well and I am tempted to "complement" our Yeti with a sort of "support" vehicle (as in support groups in concerts) but my other (and always better) half is soooo strict on money disposal! I do keep wondering why :giggle:

Ah well, the Citigo is a perfect playmate to the Yeti, we use both cars about equally in terms of mileage done since new. The journeys they are used on are completely different however.

The Yeti does the long distance cruising jobs, and the Citigo for anything less than 60 miles away. Having said that the Citigo would not have any problem with longer journeys its just a question of preference.

The Citigo is very cheap to run (we have the greenline version). Whilst we have a need for 2 cars this is the perfect pairing for us. We used to have an Octy 1.9 TDi Estate (fab car) and a BMW 320d (I was not overly impressed with that one - it came with the Missus!).

When we drop down to one car there will be a lot of soul searching as to which one we ditch!! (thankfully that is not in the foreseeable future.)

Honestly Citigo and Fabia were the ones I was looking for but its a no go financially for us at the moment so the bright side is at least we wont have to go through any kind of choosing lol

If it wasn't for the caravan we'd have a Citygo.

Had one twice whilst the Yeti has been serviced and have been most impressed with it.

I'm looking at whatever is available at short notice, but yes Matlock/Buxton area looks likely.

I will be taking camera gear in the hope of nice weather as I've never visited the Peak District. If it rains I may just hit the shops in Derby area instead, this would be another novelty as I live 120 miles away from decent shops.

Either way I'm making a wee holiday out of the trip with hopefully some chill out time and getting acquainted with my new monster.

We have had two weekends in the Matlock/Buxton/Bakewell area recently and can recommend a meal at Monsall Head Hotel see http://www.peakdistr...cle/monsaltrail, much better than shopping in Derby even if you bring the Scottish weather down here with you, We are off to Mathry in Pembrookshire for a week from this weekend, so the Yeti will be getting some serious miles on it at last.

Like quite a few others on here we are a Yeti + Citigo household. As said above, they complement each other perfectly for different kinds of journey/use.

Apparently my car was not 'on ship' after all, but is still 'in transit to germany port' since last friday :wall:

'Are they carrying it on their back?' I asked the dealer.

He seems to think there may be a delay due to floods or something. Anyone else heard about this?

Very frustrating for you.

^^ if you have your order number ring SUK they seem to have more realistic info. They usually say 'they dealer knows this' but you might get a better feel for the current timescale. Maybe worth a try?

What are SUK opening hours for telephone contact?

Are they available over the weekend?

EDIT: they are mon-fri 8.30-5.30 so will call them on monday.

I think they are on 08457 745745 but if you have a call plan that does not include 0845 # then it's 01908 601601. (that's what I've used in the past but someone will correct if there is a better #.

Well our lease Yeti went back today, to be sold at auction I believe? Was so sad to see it go  The 7 hours I spent yesterday cleaning just the inside was worth it though, it looked rather good.

Ordered on the 9th May, our 2nd Yeti - 2.0 l TDi 110, SE, Pacific blue, ESP + hillhold, will be with us hopefully this time next week! 8 weeks in total, which means we only have to suffer 7 days without a car, not the 6-7 weeks we anticipated.

I think my Yeti is (not) in the same boat Marie!

3 weeks ago it was at port of exit unallocated. My dealer snapped it for me & said it would be here in 2-3 weeks...(.the 2 week due date was yesterday)... I called them on Monday for an update but apparently the system was down, but when they last looked on Friday last week it was showing as "In Transit" which I (naively?) assumed meant it was on a boat to Grimsby, however when I called them yesterday for an update (as they hadn't got back to me....) I was told by the receptionist (the sales team were busy) that it was still at Emden & would be 2-3 weeks!.

As she could give no explanation for the contradictory information, the sales manager rang me back later in the day to say that the car was still at Emden but he was pretty sure it would be on the next boat leaving either today or tomorrow & cars were currently getting transported out of Grimsby quickly, so he was still hopeful it get here next week.......so we'll see?! :mmm:

I do know that there has been some serious flooding across central Europe, particularly along the Danube. but as to whether that has any effect on Skoda transport logistics I don't know!

There are three boats coming from emden to grimsby over the weekend so yours could well be on one.

I dont know if mine has even reached emden yet :wonder: but if it has then maybe it will catch one of these boats too.

I will call SUK on monday to see what they say, as I need to plan my trip soon and cant book anything without dates :wall:

Chased up the dealer today, collecting Monday at 4pm!

Fortunately the V5 and spare key were easily located for my trade in Yeti

Pleased for you Steve, dont forget to post pics.

^ This does however make nonsense of the 'delayed due to floods' story that I was told. Same build week as mine, so it must just be the lottery of getting a boat from Emden then.

Or is it all VW Passats, that are built in Emden, that take priority!!!!!

Tony

Hello,

My first post! Currently, I drive a 2008 Fabia 1.9 TDI estate bought from new which has done 80k. The Fabia is showing its age so I'll be partex'ing it for a new dark-grey Yeti L&K 170 manual. Apparently the Yeti is built and ready to be shipped to UK. Though I've ordered new cars before, I've never quite got used to the waiting :giggle:

nrgb.

Hi nrgb, and welcome to the Yeti club, I'm sure you're going to enjoy your new purchase.

I have had a yeti for 10 months now and when I ordered it , it took 8 months and 2 weeks to arrive, since then I have bought an audi which took 3 months to come, both through Grimsby dock. I seem to think that there is a pecking order in the vag brands......

Hi nrgb, and welcome to the Yeti club, I'm sure you're going to enjoy your new purchase.

Thanks. After a lengthy period of evaluation with other cars, it was clear the Yeti was the 'value-for-money' car for my family.

Yet another update:

Called SUK this morning, their computers were down so they couldn't give me an update (you couldn't make this stuff up!).

Eventually received voicemail from them late this afternoon asking me to call them back.

My car only arrived at Emden on friday, it took the long way because of the floods in central europe.

So now its back to boat watching

They said they will update me on friday.

At least its well and truly on its way.

Just home from the dealer with my brand new Yeti 1.2 TSI DSG Elegance in candy white

My first impressions of the DSG are mostly awesome, except for one blind bend I turn onto on the way home, where it pushed up a gear a little quicker than I'd like and made joining the main road a little scary! Maybe I'll try that in sport or manual next time!

Felt a little sad leaving my trusty Greenline behind.

One small screw up, turns out the 12 speaker sound system I ordered wasn't compatible with having the spare wheel and heated front screen (total weight issue), and the dealer had chosen without informing me to skip this option and keep the spare. Offered me the reduced cost or a more expensive third party system. So that's being installed on Friday!

I was surprised just how small the boot looks with the spare wheel in and the parcel shelf attached. I'm sure the dog will manage with a better view out of the windows though.

I'll grab some pics soon.
