Park Assist retrofit on Octavia II possible?

Featured Replies

Hello,

As the title says, is it possible to retrofit/upgrade an Octy II with Park Assist System? The Car already has the 8 Sensor System (4 front + 4 rear) fitted along with the Control Unit 1Z0 919 283 C.

Has anyone done it here before?

Thanks.

the french tutorial is fantastique with good pics

First step - you have to check what kind of ABS module you have

Park Assist for sure works on following ABS modules (checked by russians):

Part No SW: 1K0 907 379 BE

Component: ESP MK60EC1 H31 0108

Part No SW: 1K0 907 379 AT

Component: ESP MK60EC1 H30 0105

Part No: 1K0 907 379 AJ

Component: ESP MK60EC1 H30 0107

If you have one of them - you are the winner!!! You can install Park Assist very easy.

I'm going to do that but I have ABS 1K0907379AD - It will not work. I just bought used ABS module from Golf VI 1K0907379BE.

I'm waiting for instalation in my friend garage :-)

Reading on the french forum i can access address 44 in vcds .. park assist ... if that makes any difference.

I have tried this on my Octavia FL without success.

My ABS pump didn't support it

1K0 907 379BK

I think BH BD also don't support it

I helped a friend who has a Golf 6 to retrofit this to his Golf Bluemotion.

His pump was a 1K0 907 379BL

I think BJ & BE are good too

I had the park assist (parallel and perpendicular), PLA1 & 2 as they're called in my Skoda Laura L&K.

This involved replacing the ABS pump, installation of the control module, additional sensors on the front and rear bumpers as well as additional two ABS sensors for the rear wheels.

The initialization was pretty straight forward using VCDS.

It works like a breeze, though the parking slots have to be of the standard size. :)

Hello there , my name is Vasilis from Greece, tell me please if you can what is the differences in hardware beetween PLA 1.5 and PLA 2.0 ?

I send you the complete hardware from out Russian friend to tell what to change.

SYSTEM OF AUTOMATIC PARKING "PARK ASSIST" - FIRST GENERATION (Parallel Parking)

Mandatory condition doustanovki this option - the presence of in-car system ESP MK60EC1.

It is desirable, certainly so in the car already had the front and rear Parktronic, because otherwise the budget is to strive to space.

So, we need a maxi-dot, front and rear parking sensors. Next parts:

1T0 919 475 D - the autopilot control unit parking, to date there are more interesting block 1T0 919 475 H, it requires less space for parking. I recommend using it.
1Z0 919 281 B REH - button on the autopilot parking
4D0 971 636 A - connector to a button
000,979,009 - the wire in the plug button 3 pcs
1T0 919 297 A GRU - sensor 2 pcs
1T0 919 133 C 9B9 - 2 pcs seal sensor
1T0 919 399 GRU - the bracket first lion radar
1T0 919 400 GRU - right arm first radar
1T0 973 203 - the plug on the sensor 3-pin 2 pieces
1J0 973 714 - connector 8-pin wiring bumper
1J0 973 814 - the plug wires from the vehicle 8-pin
000 979 034 - 3 wire to the sensor unit
000 979 131 E - wire to wire connector bumper
000 979 132 - wire to wire connector from the car
000 979 009 - wire on the autopilot control unit parking 2 pieces

Buttons with a pattern wheel unfortunately is not yet for the Octavia so content with the same button as for Parktronic.
Remove the front bumper, drill the holes for the left and right radar, sticking glue gun mounts for radars, radar set themselves with pads of their pre-coloring:

Add to the wire for the wiring parktronic radar. The first and third pins, respectively, on the radars we catch a black and green and brown wires wiring. Now change the six-pin connector wiring bumper appeared in two cell-free insert the wire pins from the second radar. Change the plug back in the washer reservoir is also on the eight pin and pull the two wires in the trunk to the control unit through a parking assistant engine compartment and interior of the driver. Left radar is inserted in a 9-pin D 12-pin beige connector of the control unit, and the right in the 10th.

Now, from a 16-pin plug beige pull two more wires through the interior of the center console of a button. 9 and 16 pins connector at 1 and 6 pin button. 2,3,4 pins buttons pins respectively button parktronic

Now change the block coded parking sensors, and its
Mechanics for the 10000A

10010A for the automaton
Then go to the steering 44. Adaptation. The fourth channel 2 of the rules on 0
All collect. And now to try the manual:

Park Assist 1.5 = 1T0 919 475H or P

Park Assist 2 uses 3AA module

Park Assist 1.5 = 1T0 919 475H or P

Park Assist 2 uses 3AA module

no need to more side parking sensors in the back pumper?

no need to more side parking sensors in the back pumper?

that is not what you asked

if you want to know what else you will need

2x ABS sensors

2x additional parking sensors

possibly a newer instrument cluster, older versions don't support PLA2
