Just googled it and not come up with much. Im pretty sure the one i have on now is an audi one but not too sure. Is there no 'performance' one you can get?

Right guys. Apparently you can use the map sensor off a sprinter van. Can anybody confirm this???

Any idea?? Need to pick it up tomorow...

how much boost are you running? unless you're running an uprated turbo and want to spend a decent amount on mapping why would you want anything other than a standard MAP sensor??

It I mapped and will be mapped again sometime soon. Apparently there isn't much difference in price. It needs replacing and not much point puttin standerd one on if I can get an 'uprates' one

your money to waste as you see fit I guess

How dya mean? U sayin it's not worth it??

A MAP sensor either reports the pressure correctly to the ECU or it doesn't, there's no 'uprated' or 'better' to be had.

So no point then? Where's beat place to go for one?

As above, it's a pressure sensor. What do you think an uprated one will do?

The sensor is specced to work with the ECU. Either works or it doesn't.

Some people have reported that the design has been changed, so if you buy from a VAG source you will get the latest spec of part, buy Bosch from a third party and you will get what they have on the shelf.

Edit, some of my comments may only be relevant to petrol engines as they tend to use Magneti Marelli!

So why do people sell 3 and 4 bar map sensors? Far as ive worked out, the standard one can only handle so much boost? So people running big power upgrade them to get the most out of there car? Im probably wrong but its how ive always seen it as.

So what's the verdict then lol

4 bar map sensor like I have is because my turbo pushes 2.3 bar of boost, and stock sensor only reads to 2 bar of boost (3 bar includes atmosphere pressure of 1 bar). Unless you plan to run a bonkers turbo just get the stock bosch replacement 3 bar sensor and be done with it. :)

Plus if you went for the 4 bar you'll have to get your map sensor linerization map altered.

I have part number 03D 906 051A MAP sensor. Brand new and genuine Skoda still in box. Going for a song. PM me if you need.
