Hi I have got to change the oil on my car and have been told that the oil I have is no good I was just wondering what VW rating I can use.

My car is a 2004 TDI Octavia Mk I engine type ALH M07 721.

VW507.00, covers variable and fixed servicing for all VAG diesels.

507 is only needed for cars with a DPF

Splitting hairs I know but that's not quite true,

I agree that DPF vehicles have to use ONLY VW507.00, but ANY VAG TDi can use VW507.00

Why was I told that VW505.00 or VW505.01 I'm still not sure if I can I use this as VW507.00 is longlife service oil.

My father said that he can remember when it was either Duckhams or Castrol
