Got my VRS back but no, more problems

Featured Replies

As most of you will probs know, my turbo blew up few weeks back and fooked my engine

Had a brand new garret blower with a second hand engine too

Car is running good and new map feels sweet

Only problem is is its drinking water like dutch hookers drink sperm

Every 15 miles or so the light comes and the coolant needs filling back up

Obviously this isnt right and i want to get it sorted

Any ideas?

I spoke to him, and straight away trying to point the blame finger, didnt even offer to take a look at it untill i suggested it to him a day later! More hassle than its worth. Hopefully Darkside Developments are going to help me out, possibly with a new engine if this one has had it, but that still means i have to find someone to take out my old engine, swap injectors over and all the other lil bits and then re fit new mill. Really not having much luck at the mo

Crikey, sounds like a horror story in the making. Sorry to hear you're having rotten luck. Why are some places absolute bestards when it comes to simple looking after you? They have your money and then leave you high and dry :(

Wow what an arse ache! I would be taking it back to DD and get them to sort it, thats what you have paid them for.

Never really rated them to be fair, heard alot of horror stories with them and their poopy dump valve system.

What a shame, shocking services and customer care from the sounds of it.

From experience, the forum sponsors on here provide exceptional services and look after their customers (my experience mainly comes from Unit 18 and Shark Performance, though I am sure many others would look after you.

Best of luck finally getting it sorted, you must be livid.

Oh, on another note, it might be a leak from the heater matrix- had that on my old Fab. Other common causes are radiator leaks and temp sensor leaks from what I've read. Good luck.

I feel so so ****e its untrue. £2800 ive spent fixing it and its still fooked

Makes me feel sick it really does

Never had customer care so bad

Never contacted me and when i rang him, he saw it as pestering

Had cockyness from him and sarcasm

Only time i got a phone call was to discuss the bill

I dont think the water is actually leaking from anywhere, this is my worry

contct small claims court, he sounds like a ****

He needs to put that right. You can't spend nearly 3K on a duff job. If he doesn't do it, get Trading Standards involved. There are people waiting to receive calls from people like you. AND garages fear them more than the VAT man

If i spent 2800 notes of my hard earned money Id be camping on the doorstep and watching him put it right.

They do come on here I see, so hopefully he will see this and pull his fist out and put it right.

I wouldnt take it else where that can seriously go against you.

They are required to exercise "reasonable skill and care" - i.e. to fix the problem you've asked them to, and not to create any new ones - and any parts fitted must be of reasonable quality (i.e. a 2nd hand engine with X miles on it should be in a condition you'd expect at that age). It sounds like they've failed to do this, so they'd be liable for putting it right. http://www.oft.gov.u...e/sogaexplained

If you paid any part of the bill on a credit card (not debit card), note that the issuing bank shares joint liability should you choose to go to court (and you could also look into a charge-back)

The guys should take it back without question, they carried out the work and it's clearly not right!

Thankyou, thats what im saying right there. Yet when i ring up (onli because he hasnt contacted me when he has promiced to do so) he see's it as pestering

When i asked the other day when its going to be ready (on the day i actually collected it) he replied with 'asking me that is like asking me what im having for tea next week' then basically just put the phone down

Im not lying or trying to slag any tuner off, just stating the facts of the matter and saying it exactly how it is

Ill let you guys make up your own mind

Actually angers me to think that the only time he phoned me was to discuss the bill. Even the missus grabbed my phone when it was ringing and was in complete shock to see that it was Gav at Derv Doctor, thought he must of sat on his phone or something by mistake but no, just wanted to tell me how much money he needed off me

Made me feel like a valued customer, NOT!

What a ****. Tbh I doubted his work as soon as he slated the map at the beginning of the thread.

I wouldn’t feel like I was “pestering” or “mithering” after paying nearly 3K. When I’ve had problems after leaving a garage the first think they ask is to bring the car back.

just take it back bud, cheeky f*****

Not this garage, i gave it 24 hours for him to say to me bring it back but nothing, so i had to mention it to him, still didnt seem keen

If it was my £2800, he would now be fearing for his safety and would fix the car so bluddy quick whilst bowing and walking away backwards. And he would be calling me sir :wonder:
