Remapping Yeti - ddoes it invalidate warranty?

Thanks DGW.

Don't think Skoda-Croatia is that "open minded", but I'll investigate this issue.

and as others have said its great in the traffic lights grand prix for the startled looks!

I keep seeing this sort of comment - how the dickens do you see the looks on the faces of drivers you have just left behind?

In the rear view mirror?

The 110 engine is more than capable of being mapped; it's effectively a de tuned 140. However the gearbox ratio's are set up for 110, not 140 or above and the FSIII front brakes are only just adequate (my experience) for the standard hp and not straight forward to replace with the much more effective set-up on the 170.

Mine will be staying stock (engine not wheels :giggle: ), in my ownership anyway; she has plenty of go as is.

TP

I'd endorse this view also. I find the performance is pretty snappy with the 110 after the engine has loosened up after the first 12000 miles, just be in the right gear for the job in hand. I also think that the brakes are only just adequate for the standard power output, I'm really used to the car now so I know what to expect from the braking, but when it was new and unfamiliar I found it slower to stop than my previous car.

Some uprated Brake pads on the OEM setup will work wonders, without going to the expense of changing discs, callipers etc.

Wishful thinking and a vivid imagination. 99.99999% of drivers couldn't give a **** that you just left the lights quicker than them.

I think it may have been meant with some humour. ;-)

Have to agree, plenty of pep in the 140 as well but brakes only just adequate.

Thats why skoda fitted bigger disks to the 170CR and 1.8TSI.

No they didn't; bigger discs, 312mm, are only fitted to the CR170. The 1.8TSI has to make do with the same 288mm discs as the CR140.

Thanks, didnt realise that, seems odd as they both have similar performance figures!

Perhaps as you suggest fitting better quailty brake pads is a cheaper way to improve braking.
