Amunsden Plus Bluetooth and Microphone install "How to"

Featured Replies

Anyone know whether the VCDS lite software (available for free download) is capable of accessing the BT checkbox?

The Ross-Tech function table says that it can access the 07 function that allows changes in the code modules; is this where you make the changes?

If so I might try it out myself with the right cable...

Did you find out any more info r.e the lite version doing the BT?

Might be tempted to give it a go myself. Also want the cornering fogs on too... /had them on prev car and liked them.

Sorry to go off topic but whats this 'cornering fogs' you speak of? (we'll have no trouble here!)

Is this someting that can be enabled on the blackline through VCDS? If so, that would be pretty cool - wouldn't mind that myself. Must add that since Hayden enabled my electronic speedo through VCDS I use it a lot - a lot easier to read quickly rather than dial. I'm loving this car

My understanding is it can be enabled

When it is, turn or indicate and the fog on that side comes on

Which is kinda funny as most SEAT models have it turned on as standard and SCN was full of people asking for it to be turned off as they are fed up of people telling them they have one fog light that doesn't work etc

Digital speedo is not related to the BT enablement.

How's it done then? What menu option is it under? Might as well enable this whilst I'm doing the BT!

Look on the forum it is on here somewhere, that's where i found it. VCDS section would be a good start or search...

Mic arrived yesterday, easy to fit with reference to Welsh_kai_boy's instructions. Thanks to the very knowledgeable and helpful member "Hedge" who did the VCDS work for me it is all now working fine.

My mic kit arrived today.... Getting the VCDS done today as well.... No excuse. Will report back later....Fingers crossed

My mic kit arrived today aswell - just need Skoda to deliver my Blackline now so I've got somewhere to install it :giggle:

"Build your own Skoda Octavia, in fortnightly, easy to assemble instalments......."

Eureka!

Firstly postman delivered mic kit.

Then met up with friendy fellow forum member domhnall who kindy enabled BT and a few other settings using VCDS that took my fancy. Large speedo, dimming DRL when indicating, cornering fogs....

Came home and made a start on fitting the BT mic following Welsh_kai_boy excellent instructions. Couldn't wait on the trim removal tools i ordered from china so set about the trim with a couple of plastic levers from a bike puncture repair kit lol

Overall the whole job took about 90 mins and i'd give it a difficulty rating of 6 or 7 out of 10.

One thing that was a pain was the cable/plug for the on/off airbag switch inside the glovebox. Got it off easy enough but putting it back was a nightmare. Ended up unscrewing the switch then sliding it back ontop of the plug when i situ. then angling the whole glovebox down slightly to gain access to the screws and secure switch back.

Yes i seem to remember doing that when i took my glovebox out

Hi all,

Wondering if this mic system would fit in the fabia as I have ordered one with the Amunsden +

Delivery should be early December and wouldnt mind ordering ready to fit over christmas.

Any ideas what else I should ask the dealer to switch on in the VCDS prior to delivery.

Any help appreciated.

Happy to have helped Simon. Lovely looking car you've got there.

Big thanks to Welsh_kai_boy as I now have the 'factory' Amundsen+ bluetooth. It's heaps better than the Fiscon Plus unit I had fitted to my Blackline, much more professional interface and the BT streaming is spot on.

Cheers V Much.

PS I now have a Fiscon Plus unit for sale!!

My mic arrived this morning in the post, I collected the car from the dealer at lunch so it looks like tomorrow (weather permitting) I'll be fitting the mic and taking a spin to my local specialist to have the Bluetooth enabled.

OK so the only features that may allow me to have the phone menu in the MFD is that mine is set to Australian so that I get the digital speedo. All I did was untick the box as explained in the first link in my how to.

Just to be clear there is no under seat module this is how the GSM iii is installed, BT is integrated in this model (as stated in a previous post).

Is your speedo in kph?

No in MPH

It took me about 40 minutes to install the mic (brilliant post/pics btw Welsh_kai_boy) and £10 for my local VAG specialist to activate the Bluetooth. Initially the phone wouldn't show up on the maxidot display, but turning the ignition off and going back to it 10 minutes later sorted that all out.

So all in all, it's cost my just under £40 (including buying the mic) for a "factory" bluetooth kit that Skoda want £400+ for!

Superb eh? Only snag that bothered me was the on/off airbag switch.. Getting the plug back on was a bit nippy.

Big thanks to Welsh_kai_boy, great how to completed mic install in around 40-50 mins and even managed to work out the vcds thanks again
