Amunsden Plus Bluetooth and Microphone install "How to"

Featured Replies

I asked the dealer I bought the car from if they can enable the BT and install the mic. he has just phoned to say it is not compatible in the limited edition and should have been ordered at manufacture. Is he talking Boll!"#¤

I think so. The dealer I got mine from saids the Blackline comes with what it comes with - no other factory options could be ordered.

The salesman added "enable Bluetooth" to the PDI checklist for the workshop but the service manager said they are not allowed to change the delivery spec - I wasn't expecting anything else to be honest.

I've got the microphone kit oredered and hopefully someone to do the VCDS bit.

Microphone arrved today from car systems. Another big thank you to Welsh_kai_boy for his installation guide.

I did manage to fish the mike cable through without detaching the glove box. I cable tied it clear of the moving parts of the glove box to stop any possibility of it getting caught up.

Bluetooth enabled by an extremely helpfull and capable Mathew of www.vagnostics.co.uk

To anyone needing this service in the Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire area, do give him a call.

One thing to note regarding the enabling of the Bluetooth. The maxidot display didn't at first show the phone or calls etc, but after the car had been switched off and left for half an hour or so, it now has full display. I guess the car needs to restart/re-boot to fully complete the process. Everything now working fine.

I ordered my lead about a week ago, how long does it take to get here?

Mine took four working days via UPS standard delivery.

I got my mic in and it's easy enough to run. I've not connected it either end yet as my bluetooth still has to be enabled. Getting it done next week. Only problem I had was I couldn't remove the head unit all the way. Hopefully the VAG specialist I'm going to can help. Might just be a trapped wire.

did you remove the top box so you can see behind the stereo?

My mic took 3-4 days to arive via UPS.

Got it fitted in about 35 minutes flat at MS Autos in Reading. VCDS coding complete in 2 minutes flat.

All integrated into Maxidot etc.

I have found initially that callers complained that there was an echo on the line - took the light fitting out and checked / re-seatd the mic, seems to be better now. Has anyone else experienced echo problems? Is it related to how loud you have the volume?

Hi. Anyone with VCDS in NW (nr Warrington). Thanks

Just doing mine now. Don't need trim tools, pull the trim under the ircon unit gently towards you. Open the tray, makes it easier.
