update time!

got some new domes from a new fabia which are bigger than the octavia ones, modified one to fit round the strut brace on the O/S and gave them the gloss black treatment

then inspired once again by rob on pimpmyskoda.com i made myself a grounding kit :)

imagegcud.jpg

New bump stops, top mounts, bearings and H&R springs are here :)

now considering some new shocks but not sure yet as it doesn't really bother me about taking them out and in so may fit them, see what the ride is like, if it is bad i will swap the shocks :)

oh and some new anti roll bar bushes are sitting at work as mine has a little bit of excess movement so i need to change them too

dont forget your top mounts B)

right suppose I should have updated this a little bit ago.. fitted the H&R springs onto the standard shocks, I cant fault them to be honest, ok they are a little harsher but that is to be expected but I like them :) at least until I can afford some proper coilovers now I want it lower! :)

so here's the pictures not much difference in height but has brought the car a lot more level

imagemwdf.jpg

imagevhzp.jpg

now with the new top mounts up front I strut tops sit a lot better now so I need to modify the O/S one to fit round the strut brace again :wall:

I have it with me today at work so may do it at some point and I also have some more gloss black wrap with me so I might wrap the bottom side grilles black to match the top grille :)

looks spot on,prosports needed!!!! lmfao

  • Author

I've decided prosports are not going near my car! ;)

the front trims in the bottom grilles are now wrapped gloss black, so i'm going to pop the front and rear black bumper trims off and get them sprayed on monday/tuesday to body colour.

in the middle of gloss blacking some wheel bolt covers and also repainting the strut top cap after modifying it but it keeps going funny so i will leave it till sunday to re do that as i cant be bothered now!

i will be heading to the powder coaters on monday to get a price to do my rocker cover and manifold as they are really getting on my nerves having to keep rubbing them down to get them smooth :(

Rocker cover and inlet £60 at the coaters I use. Top job

100-150 weeks turn around :D

group spray!!

Picture stolen from Pete as i never take pictures! hope you don't mind Pete!

anyway it got a little wet on the way there :( but all was well in the end went and swapped back at about half 11 and returned in the octy lucky as well as it ****ed down!

yg95.jpg

this picture was taken by my mate that came along in his 5 series :)

all in all it was a good day out :)

then today i decided to turn the car into a mess!

started rubbing down the manifold as i really dont want to have to have the car off the road while i get it powder coated where i have a spare rocker cover so that dont matter

rknx.jpg

ive done a few little touch ups to get rid off the little dimples and rubbed it down i think im pretty much done on the manifold just need to go over with some 2000 grit tomorrow and polish it back up :)

q0mf.jpg

then i took the bumper trims off ready to be sprayed

e0ty.jpg

so the car looks awful, im going to hate driving it like this but oh well will be worth it :)

Nearly there mate :)

  • Author
