Now that ive started i can see this engine bay eating into my wallet! Haha

yep.. you popped the lid now.. you cant stop till its done.. then you will rip it all apart again and re do it all over like i am! lol

Your ripping yours apart?! What!? Why?! Thing is it will frustrate me until its all finished!

so a little update, been thinking about colours for the engine bay been asking around and have now decided to change the blue pipes to red and black wont cost much to change the few that i have so then i can start with rest of it :) thanks to charlie (Dark_hero) for persuading me red and black pipes will look better! :)

then i decided it was time for new brakes as they started squeaking a few days ago couldn't decide on what brakes to go for was thinking DS2500 pads and OEM discs, then LCR Brembo, then Porsche brakes all looking to cost me a pretty penny so in the end i decided that the OEM brakes are really good for the stage i am at now so just got a set of standard disc and pads ill change them if i need something with a bit more bit later on :)

Glad i sorted them today and not next week like i was planing to! the old ones was grinding on the outer edges, the inner edge was corroded to hell and they was warped

imagewfn.jpg

and on with the new ones :)

imagevvaj.jpg

wow what a difference they made even though they are still bedding in! im guessing the old ones was a bad make or something!

just wondering, much did the discs cost ?

it wasn't perfect match so i changed it so for the 3rd time the grill came out and wrapped for the second time

once again i burnt my fingers! would have thought by now i would have learned not to put my fingers under the heat gun!

literally just finished and really pleased with it this time no blemishes so on with the pictures!

if it wasn't for me going away on monday i would have attempted the big mouth front bumper and gloss black trims but in fear of messing it up and not having my car for the week away i wimped out and am leaving it until i get back :)

  • Author

Nah i struggled to find any for a decent price was going to speak to dave at vagbremtechnic but then decided to just stay standard for now and change later on :) and yes red pipes are way mor important!

Braided hose finishers, 2m of vac pipe, 1 red coupling pipe for and 1 black coupling pipe for the intake pipe

so i thought skip the cleaning and just start working on the engine lol black intake pipe not fitted yet as i need to get 2 new 80mm jubilee clips

Got it in work today, just doing a little check over think my front lower arm bush is squeaking like hell! so think i might get some uprated bushes

and then i found these stuck in between the N/S/R spring and spring carrier, not a clue how it got there and how long its been there!
