not much going on at the moment.. getting fed up with this weather just want to get to work on the car, still waiting to prep and paint the rest of the boost pipes and manifold but its too cold! may get a heater and do it soon

i have a few big boxes of stuff sitting in the garage waiting to go on, just ordered some blue silicon vac piping to be fitted with the manifold but unsure what clips to use.. jubilee clips or spring clips? i think spring clips will look neater, whats everyones thoughts?

need to order some more silicon pipes ready for the manifold swap and take the bumper off to check where all my boost pipes go and make sure i have all the ones i need

need to fit my front tyres kindly donated by Pete (group1rs) Thanks again Pete!

No worries Adam.

I find jubilee clips better and I just angle them so that the screw is on the underside where possible, easier to get off and less likely to mash :)

hmm good point!

so went over to work and borrowed the heater so i could get spraying today,

after hours of prep getting all the dirt and grime off then rubbing down...

imagefpu.jpg

its coming up quite well, i will probably rub down the top bit and do that again as i want that bit perfect then i need to get some high temp lacquer to make it shiny! :) anyone around my way know the best places to buy it? otherwise i will have to order it online and wait :(

  • Author

ordered up the high temp lacquer today apparently it will be here between 28th-29th December... i will believe that when i see it! royal mail are horrendous around here lately!

Is it orange or red?

  • Author

Its red but the flash was on, on my phone so makes it look orange and it dis have an orange tint to it until it dried properly

after hitting my head way too many times fitting Pete's interior i see this on the way home... never seen it before

got home, cut and polished up my manifold looking real good now cant wait to get the last few bits so i can fit it :)

imageihbh.jpg

and then gave the steering wheel a good clean here is the water that came off of it!

So a trip over to Rob @ W8 Performance tonight for a remap

Rob read my ECU sent it off to Shark Performance before i knew it Shark had sent it back and rob loaded it up

Truly amazed at the transformation of the car and a great service from Rob! As well as working late to do it for me! Thanks Rob!

I've heard Rob from W8 is now at home cleaning out his pants after the post re-map test drive !

  • Author

hahaha! he said he gets very nervous being a passenger to the test drives. I'm surprised i didn't need to after being a passenger with you yesterday did you see me holding on! lol

Rob got a bit twitchy on my test drive when i took a corner at speed. :D

Drivers are the worst passengers. :D

so yesterday on the way home i decided to put my foot down a little bit for the first time this weekend... bad idea :( as the turbo kicked in my clutch started slipping like mad and i started slowing down and now there is no feel to the biting point at all so looks like its G60 solid flywheel and VR6 clutch time! limping it around at the moment but think i will swap into the fabia tomorrow until i can get the parts dont want to end up at the side of the road with no clutch at all now! :)

Unlucky mate. At least you've got a spare car to run around in

  • Author

indeed! lol its ok though i will order the parts tomorrow but the only day i have to fit them is Saturday my birthday :(
