Castle Combe Spring Acton Day 2013! 27/04/13! Tracktime & Clubstand

Featured Replies

It wasn't too much of a problem, being thrown out amongst a very aggressive field... I am glad it didn't last much longer though as standard brakes went off badly towards the last lap, even driving home they are still soft with more pedal travel.

I will have the wheels off tomorrow and see if the pads are still in there

  • Enjoyed today, will give myself a push to get on track next time. I should of hopefully managed to get a picture of everyone. First time shooting any moving vehicles so could do with some improvemen

  • Why do we all do these events ? For the most part it's the chance to get together with other like minded Skoda fans. And also the chance to explore the speed thrill and handling of your chosen ride. W

Lloyd55vrs, I think you have caused me a big issue! All I got on the way home from CC was the wife saying things like;

Why don't you polish my car so it looks shiny like the red one..

Why can't I have wheels like on that red car..

Why doesn't my car have a fancy roof like that red and blue one.. Korban is also to blame

We have created a monster people, my wife is now looking at websites to bling up the Fabia, I will leave her at home next time. :wonder:

Hehe get to it mate :D

Could be worse....... I now require a GTR :D with crazy bits lol

Com-on number :D

recommend a cloth and some polish? lol

The only comment she made about the GTR was "I think the blue looks better" Sorry Richard..

I had a feeling myself and M12MKD weren't even going to make the 2nd session as i was stuck behind a Puma and Clio but then one of the race officials opened their eyes and realised i was there, so i told him i had another Skoda session driver behind me as well, so thankfully made it on to the Briskodia session.

Maybe it would be better if the session was earlier. That way there's less chance of getting held up with accidents

Dodo juice mate

And noooooo the crazy yellow is awesome :)

U should feel how well the colour keeps it on the track :D

Really enjoyable day (my first as a Brisky member).

It was a good turnout on the stand.

Hopefully get on the track next time.

Is this proof that yellow cars can go into warp speed?

Hey :D

I dunno if it was round... Or on or above or next to :D

I know mate... Just still on one about it..

Real unforgetable experience mate

I hope danlp6 is ok too. Was a heavy whack!
I'm ok. Hurt my wrist, but that's it. Gutted tbh

Yes yes..... Ok

Hi my names lloyd and i am a child :(

Can I personally thank the three brisky members who bumped my ****ty escort for me!!! You were life savers!! My puncture actually ended up being due to a buckled wheel! So set about changing it and the car wouldn't start again! Lol,not amused but new starter ordered!!!! Thanks again troops!!!

My video from the mixed briskoda session.

It's a bit shaky as the plasic clip that connects the gopro to the pad broke when I mounted the camera.

You were reeling me in there Cossie1, you will have to fix that mount for next time, it almost has a self levelling system for when you go around corners.

I am uploading my video now. Takes ages!

It was great to meet all of you. I had a great time in the proper brisky session. The first free for all was terrifying for a newbie! :(

Ps I hope I didn't hold any one up on the track. First time ever and was really anxious not to crash after all the crashes throughout the day

Pps thanks Karl for lending me the screwdriver. At least the hose didn't pop off on the track

Have front and back footage now. Just trying to find out if windows live movie maker can overlay my rear facing footage so I can sync them.

Saw you guys on track today, BossFox, the GTR is awesome in yellow and out the corners :o It was like flicking a switch, corner done, right foot down and ...... GONE!

Cossie1, the vrs looked pretty purposful out on track :)

And have to say all the Fabias were pretty impressive and looked at home on track!

We parked up and walked up and about 30 seconds later the guy stacked the Megane :| That could have been soooooo much worse, he was flying and was so lucky not to be spun round and rolled!

We were also there when the 306 stacked it into the tyres aswell, it was on the cards for him i think though after basically doing it on the same corner on the first lap!!!

There was some very quick and sorted cars out on track today, and some not so!

Just had a look under my bonnet and can see the reason for my smoke is oil coming out from between the engine and rocker cover and running onto the exhaust. :(

Hopefully be able to get home tomorrow, 115 miles. :o Looks like taking the rocker cover off again and checking the gasket out. :(

That vxr and lotus shifted

I was like eeeeerm "what the devil"

Those laps were intence man :)

Theyreally were sumin else :)

Defo laps of the day !!!

Excellent day out, got some good photos down at the exit from Quarry, but in the pub now so will get them up tomorrow. The Rapid made it home without incident, even though it hosed it down part way along the M4. Thanks for all the positive comments about old timer Skoda, they're as rare as hens teeth these days.

Supercharged VX220 and Type R Elise certainly does explain why BossFox was plagued by those pesky whippersnappers!

As for car I'd most like to have driven home? Certainly the GTR, then it would have to be the Stickered up Jap special running in one of the Brisky sessions, was it a Nissan or Toyota? Have a photo anyhow and will post up tomorrow.
