Featured Replies

After hunting down our little Postie I got mine today, got a slip through the door when I got in earlier today but luckily his van was still on our estate.

Thanks Richard, I'll post more up when I've time to fiddle around. With the camera.

  • Yes, for basic use the 300 looks like an absolute bargain to me. These are cost prices BTW, I do not earn out of this group buy. I am doing it because I think on the roads today, with insurance clai

The issue of the Korean 400v2 units is being resolved between the UK importer and Pittasoft.

However nothing will happen until Monday.

It will mean them sending over a patch. (not available right now as it would compromise the market in various countries)

If this can't be done then the units will be replaced.

Again, sorry for this. But as you probably guessed it's outside my control.

If anyone can't wait, return the unit and I will refund the money.

Best I can do, the joys of organising Group Buys...

Received mine today, though still packaged up, so i'm hoping it's the camera!! :D

Thanks for organising this again.

Again, sorry for this.

No need so far as I'm concerned - I don't think you've anything to apologise for whatsoever. In fact to the contrary. You've been good enough to do all the organising and we've all been happy enough to sign up and let you.

It's just one of them things, and it'll all come out in the wash.

Gaz

Mine also has no comprehension of the English language.

Not to worry Richard, can wait. Would be useful to know if it will be a firmware or a replacement job though, if we know?

I'll echo that! Cheers Richard.

Both 300 and 380 units arrived today, and both have been speaking English :-)

Am quite amused by the title of page 2 of both manuals - 'Before Reading the User Manual'.

I'm in at last! Turns out it was the adapter that came with it that was knackered. One from Tesco working fine. Only thing I need to do is learn Korean so I can change the language

We won't know until the Importer in England speaks to the Manufacturer.

They don' twork weekends and I'm hoping it'll be resolved Monday, before the two Christmas bank holidays.

So what settings are you using for sensitivity? All the way to the left or slightly off that? Every time I go round a roundabout it thinks I'm having an accident :D

I found all drive recorders register an accident/event when I accelerate in the GT-R, so I slide the thing all the way over and turn the event recording off.

This way it just records constantly on a loop as big as the SD card.

As I swap the units from one car to another I leave it like that.

Yeah I noticed that too :giggle:

My user manual is in Engrish - I'd have thought if it was meant for the Korean market that it wouldn't be. I've been rummaging on the innernet and there do appear to be English downloads, but like BF, I'm a bit reticent about trusting 'em.

My 300 is already installed in the back and working well

I now need to find a real good water repellant.... :D

have you wired it up to the wiper motor or using the lighter socket?

I just installed my old one into the boot lid using the wiper motor ignition live. Works well.

Is it obvious which wire that one is?

It is when you have a multimeter. It was the black wire on the wiper motor plug which was the switched live. This was traced into the top corner of the screen, and spliced in, along with a convenient earth - think it was brown wire.

Installed and on

View from rearview mirror. Its sort of tucked away up a bit so I don't really see much of it.

I'll borrow a multimeter :whew:

looks good, though, cheers for the pics

Just a little excess wire to tuck behind the trim but I wanted to ensure there was more, not less, when it came to plugging it in. :D

Brown is the earth on VAG vehicles.

The live was black with a purple stripe on mine. I used a crimp to use a bolt from the wiper motor for my ground.

I may take the boot trim off tomorrow and take a couple of pics if you like?

Nobody noticed yet that the 300 units seem to have GPS?

They weren't supposed to, as per post no.1. :wonder:

I did notice mine has GPS but I had not realised they were not meant to per post 1. Is there a DR300 and a DR300G - G being GPS? This is definitely a DR300G model.

  • Author

Yes, there was a 300 and a 300G model. Both are now discontinued, the 300G only just.

Hence the price. :)

Pic of my box - Clearly says DR300G - I hope you didn't end up paying extra or anything?

No. just a misunderstanding. I was not told they had GPS.
