Octavia vRS

The Tdi has dual exhausts can't tell if 1 is dummy. Either that or the fsi only revs to 5500.

It has dual tips, it doesnt have a dual exhaust system, this has already been confirmed.

  • Can't see that anyone has posted this yet, so though I'd pop it up. New video out today.  I noticed I was the second view.   Have to say, it looks good.   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1WbzoVrIZ

  • Can you not take this to a new thread. I'm subscribed on here for mkiii vrs updates. Not the age old argument of diesel vs petrol. Christ you'll be slagging off macs and pc's next :(

  • I will never understand those that defend their own car make by slagging other makes off. OK, if you've had a particularly bad experience with a certain car make, tell the story, etc. but don't sugge

@Feebet, you should buy a fake Rolex or whatever you fancy... nobody will be able to spot the difference from more than a few inches away. But you'll know! :)

Hey, could be worse - could both be fake lol...........

You can always tell a fake Rolex - they have a cheap quartz movement which is invariably more accurate than the (mechanical) real thing... :giggle:

It's very important as one looks ridicules, in cold weather u will see the condensation come out from one. I wonder will the tsi rear section mate up to the tdi system!

Or maybe someone could come up with an automatic water vapour generator for TDi owners? :giggle:

On the subject of the meteor grey colour, it reminds me of an unfinished Airfix kit - not a great look IMHO

Ridiculous, next you'll be telling me that you could install a speaker system in a TDi to make them sound more sporting!

Well if you can do it to an Audi (as an aftermarket kit to make your Mk 1 TT 180hp look like a 225hp) why not to a Škoda:

I can't say (even knowing the above fake ones are available) I have EVER sat in the winter looking at TT exhausts to see where the condensation comes out.   Likewise with the new vRS.

BUT if you look at what the above shows, you will soon enough be able to get a kit for the vRS that can add a small pipe to the fake exhaust on the opposite side:

Dude! Sound generator is a part of options list for the new O3 VRS.

Erm, I think that is exactly what he was making fun of!     :giggle:

So now we are easily going to be able to tell who had a TDI and who has petrol.

The TDI will be the one with black smoke only coming out of one pipe :)

You should go and read up on what a DPF is...

It's an annoying modern day component that prevents you from buying a diesel if you don't do the runs to keep it clear !!  :giggle:

You're probably only joking, but you see this type of post often on here, is there really any truth in it? Here's my driving profile:

6,000 miles per year, I might go to France once which is about 1800 miles of that 6000, so the other 4200 miles is from purely runs to the local shops and other localish errands.

No DPF issues here at all.

Tick tock. Tick tock.

Perhaps you have been lucky. Read lots of threads elsewhere, including other marques where cars all too often go into limp mode after failed re-generations requiring costly dealer intervention. Also why lots of tuning companies offer DPF deletes.

No problems here either but I do 25k per year in co. car ;)

Tick tock. Tick tock.

Wow, it's almost like you're hoping for it to happen.

Anyway, just thought I'd drop my experiences of no problems in the thread.

Not at all! Just a joke pal!

Whenever anyone is that self assured about a car, it's sod's law that it'll go tits up!

Seeing it I do want one. Although seeing the race blue and inside with red stitching (as per my FL) I want a different colour and the grey stitching inside

Fair enough, hope we haven't just jinxed it by discussing it! Driving 900 miles on Saturday!

Me too!

I think i know why this will be. The MK7 GTD (same as the Mk6 to be fair) has a twin pipe single exit exhaust on the left. The GTI still gets a single pipe dual exit exhaust left and right.

Its highly likely the two engines have different exhaust arrangements as part of the new shared MQB architecture and rather than redesign the diesels rear valance theyve kept it the same but installed the engine specific exhausts.

I dont really see why it would matter to most people you'd have to have a proper look to notice it and the diesel wont benefit from the twin exit exhausts as it wont sound nice in the same way the petrol will.

Is anyone looking at that exhaust? :)

Yep, had a look and the trim pieces aren't connected to anything other than the bumper. On the left you can see the twin exits of the real exhaust, on the right, nothing.

That must be the TDI then, Dr Z?

This CAD screenshot proves there's real dual exhaust for what I'm guessing is the TSI version. Thanks for checking, at least the Golf GTD isn't trying to trick anyone. :)
