Octavia vRS

Plenty of time to save for a bigger deposit! I think they both look great. They'd better have fully specced ones at Good Wood, in all colours, wheels and interior trim. Take your pick! :P

Thats what I hope too.

Still cant believe I am getting excited over this though.

  • Can't see that anyone has posted this yet, so though I'd pop it up. New video out today.  I noticed I was the second view.   Have to say, it looks good.   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1WbzoVrIZ

  • Can you not take this to a new thread. I'm subscribed on here for mkiii vrs updates. Not the age old argument of diesel vs petrol. Christ you'll be slagging off macs and pc's next :(

  • I will never understand those that defend their own car make by slagging other makes off. OK, if you've had a particularly bad experience with a certain car make, tell the story, etc. but don't sugge

Estimate I received from my local dealer was for deliveries of the estate to start some time in September, however the hatchback will not be available until January/February time :(

Just to confirm that a dealer has told my colleague the same thing; December delivery for the hatch.

That's a very disappointing lead time if I'm honest, was hopeful they would have built up stock of them in anticipation of a high volume of orders

With reference to the hatch 'lead time' this is not the case. The Estate is the first to be launched with the hatch release around October IIRC

HTH

Sadly, children are not an acceptable method of deposit due to the ongoing upkeep. Most dealerships will however accept blood, teeth and certain limbs

Yep, it rolled off the transporter last night - black TDI DSG Estate.

I just had a look at this.

Is it true out of the two exhausts only one is actually connected to the engine?

(or was someone pulling my leg)

So does that mean you can only order an estate at the moment (from tomorrow I presume)?  Or can you order either but just accept the hatch will be a good few months before delivery?

I cant understand why the estate is coming out first, seems the wrong way round to me.

It's a single system, back box exit to the passenger side.

The 'chrome exhaust tips are purely for asthetics.

Did Honda do this on the newer Civic?

Hmmm.....

I bet that'll be a popular mod, if there is space for the pipe.

thats a bit sus...just wait till that cold day and all your getting is steam out of one pipe. Won't look stupid at all will it

Oh dear... One of my little engineering pet hates - fake exhaust tips! :(

There's a tweet below the guy who's at the press day stating prices also says specs released but no can't view as not registered. Seems starts at 23k ytytumu7.jpg

That is not the case. There's photos where you can clearly see that there's a true dual exhaust. There's a bunch of spy photos of the test mules straight from the back of the cars and you can tell the dual exhaust case is not fake. At least that's how I saw it. Am I wrong?

Preston_Motors, you said you have a demo car already? Should be pretty easy for you to go and check the exhaust system on the car. ;)

oh no, worst decision ever :(

if youre not doing it properly then dont do it at all!

- single system for tdi (or one side if you prefer)

dual exhaust for tsi (on both sides)

- tdi and tsi have dual chrome exhaust tips

Yeah £23,790 for the estate. That's less than the Mk6 GTI was let alone the Mk7

Yep £22,990 hatch, presume this is petrol pricing?

right that video has me sold..blue with black trim and 19's is the one for me!

I doubted myself, as when I googled a 156 GTA it didn't show any with the big wing! I think Skoda should do another special vRS edition like the WRC, however maybe a land speed record one instead?! ;)

It was in fact a factory fit OPTION. I know cause I worked with 2 guys who ordered Veloce models and had them fitted as optional extras. They looked like they had a picnic table stuck on the boot lid lol.

is this the new grey then?

Any news on an e-diff option?

No e-diff = far too expensive!

When you can get a Golf GTI with Performance Pack for £23529 after discount, you have to seriously need the extra space offered by the VRS to go down that route.....

Just ask Steve Sutcliffe what he thought about the Golf with PP ie if it was his money he'd even buy above the M135i.....

Skoda, you're pricing yourself too high.......think about it.......

I'm guessing it would be safe to say its unlikely we will get any discounts at launch, I usually get decent discounts when I buy but never had a car the same year it's launched
