That's the steering wheel for the 'RED' interior option.

We can prosume what it will look like for the 'GREY' option. ;)

Shame, I was hoping for a flat bottomed one.

  • Can't see that anyone has posted this yet, so though I'd pop it up. New video out today.  I noticed I was the second view.   Have to say, it looks good.   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1WbzoVrIZ

  • Can you not take this to a new thread. I'm subscribed on here for mkiii vrs updates. Not the age old argument of diesel vs petrol. Christ you'll be slagging off macs and pc's next :(

  • I will never understand those that defend their own car make by slagging other makes off. OK, if you've had a particularly bad experience with a certain car make, tell the story, etc. but don't sugge

Why in the world would you want/need one?! That's one of the fake race-like things I dislike about the Gti.

This was the teaser of the wheel Skoda posted on FB. So looks like the one above.

wheels are all wrong..

Agreed - we just need a smart 18" silver-coloured alloy wheel.

Have you seen the price of 19" tyres????

These are definitely the 19s:

I've got to say, I really dislike that blue hatch in the video. I don't like the spoiler, I don't like the bumpers, I don't like the black mirrors, I really don't like the wheels. The rear on the hatch looks all kinds of wrong.

An estate on the right wheels and stance rectified might be alright though.

If those are the 19's (which I agree with).... How big are those brakes?! Bigger than 312mm IMO! Coud that mean there's a factory brake upgrade for the first time or is it just another example of Skoda 'enhancing' the early press models?

Think it says 19 on the tyre if you look closely!

Yes it does, I wasn't disputing that for a second. :)

Well i think i will get one and put my blackline spoiler on it think that will rectify the problem, i like all the other stuff you mention.

Spoiler on the hatch is the only weak point for me. The rest is stunning!

No worries!

Personally, with the potholes scarring our roads and the price of tyres - 18s are pricey, 19s considerably more so, and 20s at huge money - 18s are probably big enough.

Just lost a newish tyre to a huge pothole in a braking zone for a right hand turn. Small bubble in tyre wall. My 16" winters might have survived. But the 18 was doomed. With 19s, I could have easily bent the wheel itself.

Take a photo and claim off the local council - they are liable for damage caused by deep pot holes.

And quick before they fill it in...

225/35R19???

That's strange. Weight index for those tyres are 88XL top. The current vrs has a 92. thats 70kg drop per tyre.

Thats why i thought they'll fit 235 option.

Ill be surprised if the 19s dont wear 235 section tyres.

It's a bit of a mine-field that one.

Yes they are liable but only if they have been informed on the pot-hole. Quite rightly there is no way that a local council can possibly know about every single pot-hole and patrols will only reveal so much.

If they know about the road damage and do nothing to fix it then they become liable.

Ill be surprised if the 19s dont wear 235 section tyres.

VW golf mk7 HL has 225 section tyres:

Councils are ahead of the game these days. I asked for a claim form. When I read it, I lost interest for £100. They make it so f'ing difficult, it's not worth it.

Luckily, I had a part worn Conti in the garage, so I had that fitted for £13. I have written to the council telling them that the hole is in a dangerous spot and requesting they fill it as a priority.

I checked last week (two weeks after my incident), and it hadn't been done yet. There are 1000s of holes round here, like pretty much everywhere else, and the local councils just cannot afford to get them all sorted.

Best advice, stick to 18s max, or 17s if you are happy with the way they look, and carefully avoid any road imperfections!

I'd still claim, if for no other reason the more they pay out in compensation the more cost justified it is for them to go out and repair them
