  • Can't see that anyone has posted this yet, so though I'd pop it up. New video out today.  I noticed I was the second view.   Have to say, it looks good.   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1WbzoVrIZ

  • Can you not take this to a new thread. I'm subscribed on here for mkiii vrs updates. Not the age old argument of diesel vs petrol. Christ you'll be slagging off macs and pc's next :(

  • I will never understand those that defend their own car make by slagging other makes off. OK, if you've had a particularly bad experience with a certain car make, tell the story, etc. but don't sugge

What's the track called?

It's "the ecstacy of gold" by Ennio Morricone from "the good, the bad and the ugly".

Metallica used it as their intro track.

Going by the title and the weird shots back from the bonnet with no drivers seat seems there will be some sort of social media thing going on where you'll be able to import yourself.

Wonder also if the front assist as featured is standard or cost option?

Every single Mk VII Golf GTI gets the Citygo radar front brake assist as standard. That way it is FIVE insurance groups lower than the Mk VI GTI. Will be the same with the Octy I suspect. It is only a £200 or so option on a Citygo no?

So that eye is there just to get the lower insurance rating. And thus to add adaptive cruise control is not that costly.

Nice ad! Like the black front grille surround.

2014.... I'm already saving! :D

That is a brilliant advert! Top marks

Like it! Whose version is the one in the advert?

Dunno. Wouldn't mind a copy. Is there anything in the YouTube comments?

I wonder what will the price be in Ireland? Our current Vrs is/was €29950. Also will the Irish get a better spec then uk?

0-62 in 8.1 secs is only 0.1 quicker than the 150CR!

I'm sure in reality it will blow a 150 off the road :)

Not exactly what I was expecting after all the hype this 185CR is getting! It's also only 0.2 quicker than Octy II 170CR! I thought it would be more like 7.5 secs similar to the Leon?

Will the higher entry point for the new vRS not help keep the current vRS used market from depreciating as quickly?

The diesel performance stats IMO are very conservative; a MK2 vRS CR can do 0-62 officially in 8.3/8.4 secs so can break 60 in probably about 8 secs going by their figures. In reality i think its capable in doing it in the 7's; nearer 7 dead with DSG launch control. The new car will be a few splita quicker still.

A bit like the MK2 TSi having a quoted 7.2 0-62, it can do sixty in mid 6's without too much effort probably nearer 6 with launch control.

Oh my, that advert is class. Really do fancy the new vRS. Anyone got 20K lying around? :D

Didn't like the advert but have to admit the car looks excellent(front and side on), even the wheels are growing on me. :D

The ad no longer works ?

guess someone leaked it before goodwood.

It was on the Skoda UK channel but it was the international version of the advert. Here is the UK one; they changed the music and other aspects of the ad and ruined it a bit, typical Skoda UK :(

Hmm they've refined the film, it's a better quality now however the music doesn't have the same effect sadly...

No :( And they took the butch baby out and the voiceover is kind of pointless too. The original had more impact all-in-all.
