First off i don't even own a Skoda... yet. Hopefully with your help that will change!

I used to own a 2007 Vectra 1.9 CTDI before somebody decided they didn't like it and crashed into it (i think most people will agree he did me a favour!) i'm now looking at an Octavia VRS. I did originally have my heart set on a Mondeo ST220 but after test driving 2 Octavias (2011 DSG & manual) my heart quickly jumped ship. I must have been smiling for a good hour after getting out of that car!

I have about £14k to spend which will get me a newish model with fairly low miles but i'm wondering if maybe i should save some money and go for a cheaper but older version? Any advice is appreciated.

Well i've made the move! Just placed a deposit on a 2011 DSG. Hopefully i'll be able to pick her up at the weekend but i'm very happy right now!
