Thinking of replacing 'clock' instrument cluster with 'rev counter' cluster?

Featured Replies

Hi there, I just bought a second hand felicia LX 1996 just a couple of days ago, and still excited about it. :)

Now the idea of having a stupid analogue clock instead of a rev counter really ****es me off. Already searched these forums for other people who did the same thing and found a thing or two, but still couldn't answer my questions.

First of all, do I need a whole new instrument cluster from a GLX (rev counter with digital clock) or can I just buy the individual rev counter and replace the clock with it, thus retaining my og mileage, since it is pretty low (considering I might sell it)?

Secondly, given my edition didnt come with a rev counter, did Skoda still install the sensor/belt etc which would allow the rev counter to work if replaced?

Im thinking of replacing it myself (20 yrs old who held a screwdriver maybe a couple of times in his life), do you need to be an expert to do such a project? And if possible, anyone did this and made a tutorial/took pictures to illustrate everything?

Thx guys ;)

You have your answers in a topic right on this page ("Already searched these forums..." ??) titled "instrument cluster help?".

I don't know exactly what is not clear to you, but you don't open a new topic with the same subject, you simply append to the existing one.
