water behind passenger seat

Featured Replies

Hello

A merry Christmas to all the fabia owners!

I have a slight problem I was hoping to get some experienced advice on. I've noticed that sometimes the rear footwells are a touch damp but this morning when I went to my car the footwell behind the passenger seat is soaking wet and water is actually pooling in one corner.

Any idea what might be causing this? It's not a spillage the car is completely empty. Could it be air coming in the vent down there and condensing?

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Just sorted mine out recently. Didn't buy the overpriced "kit" from Skoda though, bought a tube of gutter sealant from screwfix for £2.89.

Me too! However, it failed. Damn thing!

Keep seeing ''plumbers gold'' mentioned, apparently it sets even if itr's damp. Ideal this time of year...

Whatever you use to try to seal it/them, make sure you run it all the way to the top of the rear edge of the carrier. There's a special feature near the rear upper corner that 'accidentally' directs water onto the carrier plate up there, and if you don't run your sealant high enough, water will get through above all your careful work.
