Any body available to help

Sounds like limp mode.

If this happens then goes away when you cycle the ignition then it could well be sticky vanes in the turbo. Lofty has done a good guide on how to cure this problem using Mr Muscle (In which I assume he has got shares).

You need to get the car checked for fault codes, if you get an overboost code then it is almost certainly sticky vanes in the turbo.

If this is constant then it could be something different though.

Is this 110bhp TDi?

Check your brake lights. Other than that, look here and get the car scanned. If that shows nothing, I'd suggest logging MAF output (expected and actual) with VCDS.

Any warning lights? Even if not, get it scanned.

its a ambiente so i think its a 90 bhp

i had a problem with the brake light switch before and replaced it and there still working fine, also the engine managment light was on and left it into a non dealer garage and they turned that off, my mate has a fault computer he hooked up to it (not sure which brand) and no codes came back the problem is persistant and once you get to about 70 mph it sruggles

thanks for your replies

read that about the mr muscle has any one tried this is it hard to do

Read Lofty's guide there are plenty of replies from people who have tried it.

As you have the 90bhp engine, you may not even have a VNT turbo, in which case there are no moveable vanes which can get stuck.

Look in the VCDS forum and there is a thread with a long list of people with VCDS, see if anyone near you has it and can scan the car. VCDS will give you more information than a generic OBDII scanner. They will also be able to log various measuring blocks whilst you drive in order to help identify the problem.

will have it scanned and let yous know how it goes

thanks for help :)

Check for air restrictions too.... when was the air filter last changed? Will it rev over 3000 when not in gear?

About that...he needs to check the engine code. My 90bhp Octavia has a VNT turbo as it has an ALH engine. 90bhp AGR engines have the normal turbo with fixed vanes.

On that front, it's possible (but relatively unusual) for a blocked catalyst to cause this sort of thing.

i had a problem with a blocked cat on one of these worth droppin it off to try it

I have the Ambiente Auto and had this problem,

Take the fuel filter out of the tank and clean it

Then try this

http://www.briskoda....uide of sorts

It worked for me

BTW I have the ALH engine with the VNT Turbo
