I do perceive More Than a small degree of animosity towards Vettel. Calm down boys. It's only sport.

  • I only hope it gets to the last race and Vettel needs Webber to stay behind him so Vettel can win his 4th World Title, only he's done too many laps on his tyres and they won't last to the end if he ha

Is that so?

If so I don't mind admitting that I'm wrong, as I don't profess to know everything :(

It's true, they can't remotely change anything on the cars from pit lane any more. They used to be able to at one point but it was banned. Telemetry is one way only.

Me thinks that Vettel can kiss goodbye to any assistance from Webber in the forseeable future. Poor sportsmanship.

Thanks, Mike, I didn't think I'd gone completely mad, I thought they could at one stage :)

Unfortunately I think Mark webber is the third driver in a one man team.

Horner is not going to tell Vettel to let Webber back into the lead, because he loves Seb too much. Horner will never admit that the team will do everything to make sure Vettel wins, but in inyerviews he makes out both drivers are equal.

Vettel passes Webber. Team radio-Horner: 'don't be silly Seb'

Rosberg wants to pass Hamilton: Team radio-Ross Brawn: 'stay in position, save fuel save the tyres, I want both cars to come home.

Two different syles of management, I wonder what Horner would said if Webber had done the same to Vettel?

Rosberg won't be happy, but there won't be animosity in team at the next race.

I find I have a lot more respect for Rosberg and Hamilton now. Rosberg for being professional and obeying the instruction, even though he didn't really like it. Hamilton for coming straight out and saying that Rosberg deserved the podium more than he did. If the positions had been reversed, Hamilton would also have obeyed the instruction.

Can you imagine any driver that is capable of winning races wanting to move to Red Bull now if Vettel is still there? No chance!

That is another issue. Red bull could end up finding themselves like Ferrari where no self respecting driver will want a drive because they know they'll just be second fiddle.

They were suing the same when JB moved to Macca, all that going into lion's den, Lewis's team...

As for the drivers, they all like to race within a team wit the best car - I do not think there would be a shortage of applicants any time soon. Whether they will be of a self respecting kind...

Vettel publicly apologies to Mark for his overtake - how much more cynical this dude is going to become?!? Motorsport is the most ruthless sport on the planet, cage fighting in comparison is a gentlemen's club lol

RBR could have, and didn't, actively instructed Vettel to let Webber back past. Enough said.

WTF was going on with Farce (sic) India's wheel mounts?

Max Chilton stil unconvincing either way.

Oh and LOL at Alonso's off after he'd been told to box!

This plays into the hands of mercedes amg and Ferrari , what rosberg did for Hamilton will be a point where amg will go from strength to strength, the two boys at amg will become invincible

He hadn't been told to box, he'd been told to stay out to get another lap or 2 in to save coming in twice in ~4 laps when theyd inevitably have to switch to dry tyres.

Hamilton and rosberg have a long history together, I would expect the pair to be very eager to out do each other every chance they get. Look at nico passing hamilton in the first drs zone lap after lap, only to be passed back in the second zone. I saw that as nico saying yo hamilton and the team, look I'm quicker and csn pass when I want to. I think he did it that way knowing lewis would get back past to keep the team happy.

Webber vettel is something else though, we will just have to wait and see what happens through the rest of the season.

Ok; I'd have boxed him due to the danger not just to him but to the rest of the field. And if I was Charlie I'd have boxed or parked him at the end of lap 2 anyway on the same grounds.

If only...

Thats ace.

Nothing like a bit of contraversey to spice the next race up.

Nothing will happen to Vettel, he has given them 3 championships after all. Mark has delivered none. I like Mark but think vettel is up there with Hamilton when it comes to being a twonk. Put them both in a team together and let them crash into each other week after week.

Merc should have let Rosberg past as why wouldnt they? From what i can gather Hamilton needed to save fuel but not rosberg so why should he need to hold station? Only reason is that Hamiltion is the no1 driver

and Rosberg is no 2. At least he knows this know.

The only way Webber can get any sort of recompence is to beat Vettel on the track. I actually doubt he can do this though regulalry enough to justify his complaints. Is it really that bad being the no 2 driver in the best team in the sport? The reaon he is no 2 is because hes not as good as vettel. Results prove this.

Vettel is still a twonk though and will soon be the most unpopular driver in the sport.

I think he already is :D

They were all racing tooth and nail until the last round of pitstops, no holds barred all out guns blazing racing. The positions they emerged from the last pitstops were to be maintained in both teams to make sure both cars get to the finish line and score points. Worked perfect in Merc where both drivers despite being rather young prioved to be sufficiently mature and had enough respect for each other to behave like grown ups honouring their commitments. As for the fuel savings Hamilton was cought out by wrong strategy where they incorrectly estimated wet running time (where less fuel i burned). Both cars had the same problem but Nico's was less severe hence him feeling more frisky.

I liked Coulthard's post race comments when he said following Nico's radio message "Remember this one!" "This boys should be more careful in what they say to grown up men who've been in the sport much longer then they lived" - quotes potentially paraphrased.

I think you are right, Mark has to do the talking on the track and avoid taking the spoiled brat out to earn "legend cudos" :).

It iwll be massively difficult with all the backing Vettel has in high echelons of RBR...

I was under the impression that there is an unwritten rule within teams that whoever is in the lead after the last pitstop gets the higher placed rosette, baring breakdowns, etc.

He definitely is already, though being German means he's not aware of it

That is how they will normally play it. If their drivers are particularly close, they might leave it one lap after the stop, then call the race off. They don't always do it though, it depends where their big rivals are at the time and other things.

Webber's manager, none other than Flavio Briatore has come out today stating that Vettel and Webber can't be team mates next year. He has also been very critical of Horner.

In other reports, Helmut Marko has said that Red Bull's owner Mateschitz is not happy with Vettel's move saying 'it will not happen again'. Press talk or genuine?

I would have no issues with what vettel did if he had just turned round and said "so what? I didn't come here to be 2nd!" But no, we just get the whiny little pr!ck lieing his a$$ off with the poorest of excuses "it was an accident, im sorry, boo hoo..." yeah thats right, of course it was.... he just accidently over took.... im not sure flavio is the right guy to be giving out f1 management advise is he? Unless you need a safety car of course.... as it goes though I agree with his comments about horner, he has no back bone.

Genuine.....Horner will tell Webber to move over and let Seb overtake in the future.

Red Bull have discovered that 'multi21' translated into German means 'do want you want to you arrogant little 5hit.

I hope Vettel gets his ass handed to him this year by as many drivers on the grid as possible.

I also hope that after the overtake, that the engine goes pop on him during a race, because he didn't keep it turned down and overtook.

Soon, you'll have him crashing into other drivers to win the title that season, because if no points are scored it's his.

Hmm been here before actually....

Schumacher... yes similarity.

Not so much senna, I don't think.

Unlike the other two, Senna wanted to win, but also wasn't going to put others in danger to do it.

Well... maybe apart from a certain Mr Prost.
