Webber confirmed as disqualified and will start from back of grid.

Red Bull blame fuel bowser/rig problem - I smell a conspiracy.

  • I only hope it gets to the last race and Vettel needs Webber to stay behind him so Vettel can win his 4th World Title, only he's done too many laps on his tyres and they won't last to the end if he ha

If he doesn't start from the pit lane like Vettel did when it happened to him than I'll call it a conspiracy. When they take it out of Parc Ferme the penalty is to start from the pitlane. This is fine as it's the same as the back anyway. Means they can change the car to be faster on straights to aid overtaking.

IMO they need to change the rules to force teams to put in a proper lap in final quali. If they don't then they get a 5 grid penalty. Tis a bit of a let down when only half the cars go out to set a time.

They have confirmed he will be starting from the pits and able to change setup.I think that is another loop hole that needs to be changed! If you have been disqualified for breaking rules, you should not then be allowed to change your setup. You are being PUNISHED, not voluntarily taking the penalty of removing yourself from parc ferme. Still, will be interesting to see Webber coming through the field.

107% Rule for Q1 but 104% rule for Q2 and Q3 to push them to set a half decent time.

I agree with that but as long as it's the same for Webber I'm fine with it.

107% across the board but agree with your theory.

The issue I have is that drivers knocked out at the end of Q2 will feel agrevied (sp) in that they aren't treated fairly by forcing ALL drivers to set a set regardless with avoid this, the risk being that if you don't set a time you are demoted based on the 107 rule. Hence a driver knocked out in Q2 and say 11th is promoted accordingly.

Just goes to show how out of touch Ecclestone is and just forces the ever increasing divide between the top teams (Ferrari, McL, RB, Merc and Lotus) and the others.

Should be disqualified full stop. For the rest they set a decent time or watch Sunday from the hospitality suite

Wouldn't be surprised if the rule is changed for next year. I bet it would be changed quickly if Mclaren or Mercedes tried to take advantage of it.

Another example of Red Bull stretching the rules to the limit........hardly sportsmanship, but Horner doesn't care, and presumably it was 'team orders' to send Vettel out to try to convince us it was a 'brake problem'

Vettel again brought disrepute into the sport by taking a pi$$ in Q3. Bowser comment was made for the listeners. It is not possible to fuel the car incorrectly for two laps! Judging by Mark's body language and choice of words we know what he thinks, don't we ;)

+1

The post qualifing interview with Vettel was unconvincing. I could see he was lying, because his lips were moving.

I like that :-)

Getting ready to hopefully see Lewis win his first race for Merc.

BBC is certainly gunning for Vettel :D

Good result for Alonso, Hamilton and Kimi seemed to be fairly evenly matched. Happy to see Vettel missing out on a podium after the qualifing tactics. Red Bull didn't put enough fuel in Webber's car in qualifing and then didn't tighten up the wheel in the race, the way Mark's luck is going if he got shipwrecked he would get picked up by the Titanic.

As per Moley above.

It will be good again this year, with Red Bull, Ferrari and Lotus all in the mix. Mercedes still a little way off in my view.

Don't think Mercedes are that far off the pace and they look in better shape than last season. When I think about the close season views of Hamilton going to a lesser team than Mclaren it's now the other way around and Jenson seems to have stayed in the lesser team.

It will take time for all of the teams to settle down with this years cars, but early points on the board helps. What is good that again this year no team has come out of the blocks and dominated the first three races.

The announced at the WEC race that Webber has signed a 5 year contract with Porsche. Still not confirmed yet but it came from the China paddock apparently

Porsche? Is going to be racing in GT series or something ?

WEC/Le Mans type racing. There's been rumours for a while but I think it's because Webber owns a GT2 and is known of driving it fast

LMP1

Mark must have had enough then... Pity, as I think he could've done it this year. Again, unable to meter 3ltrs of fuel... C'mon... Suspension load sensors would show that! Mark was taught a lesson and shown his place in the pecking order within Redbull. What annoys me the most is the comparisons with Schumacher. He was arrogant about his abilities etc but at least he wasn't pretending he was a Mr Nice and that he was sorry for anything-can't take such hypocrisy and blatant PR spinning. ... Still feel disgusted the whole thing

Now with added 3 place grid penalty for Bahrain, not his weekend really

F1 is turning into a mathematical chess game, pit stops to decide where the position will be near the end and so on, I am getting quite bored with it, RedBull's qualifying was disgraceful and they should get a one race ban.

I think I will have to start watching something else.
