Featured Replies

Nice history Xav..Also goes to show not all big turbo jobs have to smoke so bad ;)

Bigger nozzles, big valve ported head will make it very interesting.

  • Result of Thursday's run:     Funny how I thought there would be more torque. The car is far more drivable now, easier to pull away, and just never gives up, although it's really the mid-range to

  • Well these bad boys have now turned up...     There should be some progress over the next couple of weeks now.   Somehow, the latest oil and cambelt change will mysteriously produce more power

I'll eat my hat if you can get 260-280bhp without smoking :)

Mine's currently above 230 but that's with the standard injectors. With bigger nozzles, more diesel in the same time = more power without adding more smoke.

From Saturday's Castle Combe action, Martyn following me:

Sorry for the million edits. Looks like you can't embed a youtube video into a forum with BB code AND specify a start time anymore...

Jase have your hat ready mate:

290hp at this point big valve ported, 1100cc nozzles, 2260 @ 2.2 bar, blah blah

Thats my old car :)

If you dont map them right yes they smoke. The condition of the engine also plays big part. If a customer wants more than 250hp i always recommed ported head and cam.

Right. Shopping list compiled and it includes some fancy stuff... But can't say much yet...

Are you also going to break the 300bhp barrier?

where's the fun in that?  I want to know if I need to wind my boost up a little bit more! :D

Maybe ;)

Dunno Jason. The personal challenge I'm setting myself is doing it without any extra help from lpg or nos; just on diesel alone :) oh and on a 2260 and nothing bigger. I did notice your posts and dyno plots on tdiclub and they're impressive but I want mine to remain a very usable road car. :)

Along with some other stuff.

Unfortunately, the other pics are too motorpornographic to show in public so I'm having to keep quiet about it. ;)

OK, here's a teaser:

Can't say just yet, Luke.

Can't say just yet, Luke.

Awwww. I want one doing within the next year. If the persons willing to do it :) aha

Bobby Singh will have sorted it from his secret sources?

  • Author

Indeed. I want to check everything and ensure my grin goes from ear to ear before saying much else. :D

Which nozzles are fitted?   ;)

Come on!  You can't maintain this level of secrecy!   :p   I have never hidden where all my parts have come from! :D  Jabbasport had my head for two separate breathings :D

To be honest, it's so secret, even I don't know. I'll let Bobby answer.

Nozzles come from Italy I believe and I think they're +115% ones. I did wonder about going bigger but didn't want the side effects of larger ones.

As well as the updated PD150 bolts, we're putting in a new cam, special uprated springs, bearings and a few other bits as well as cambelt, etc to keep things tight.

Should be ready in a couple of weeks. Not long now till you have to wind your boost up Jase :p

Need to source some new pipework now as the original air pipes were those of the first gen Forge FMIC with restrictive 50mm hoses from memory. We're going to start with upgrading the pipework connecting to the turbo and then see if the rest needs upgrading to ~60mm diameter to optimise flow.

This is getting very interesting...

But please stop teasing us!!

Stop following the thread then! :p

But how can we do that when its so interesting :')
