Ordered a Rapid Elegance :)

Featured Replies

Traded in my Fabia vRS estate for a 1.2 tsi 105 6speed manual in Elegance spec.

White with 17'' wheels, sports seats and privacy glass on top of elegance spec.

Got a cracking deal :)

£70? saving on VED over three years of having the car ^^^ Are you having me on? 3 years? You change your car more often than I change my pants - but that's a different subject

It'll look spot on! Why the change so soon? :)

Cost and mpg mate - saving £80 a month on car payments alone lol :)

Wife and I are having a baby so in saving mode, no need for fast car that costs too much so aim to save money and live well still :)

Nice one on the new car

I like the rapid very nice looking car

big boot - which you will need with all the kit that babies bring :sun:

Thanks guys :)

I love the looks, could do with a boot lip spoiler though...

Coming from a fabia the quality is just as good, if not better. Standard kit in elegance form is impressive.

Chuffed with space as well - my dad came to look at showroom car and he sat in front (he's 6'6'') and I sat behind him (6'3'') and my knees didn't touch the back of the seat. Loads of headroom too.

I'm sure you'll find it better quality and more refined than the Fabia in "real life"

Almost will be my car's twin although yours will have 20BHP more, an extra gear and a few extra toys. It should move along pretty nicely even if it's not an RS!

They had a similar car to yours octavia81 in the showroom for £17.5k, did look at that one but decided the 105 would suit better. There's not a lot different in them at all really anyway!

Review soon :)

There is a boot spoiler available now. Just had an Elegance DSG go out and it was fitted as standard, but I don't think this goes for all Elegance spec.

Does look nice and I feel it just finishes off the back end.

Oh yeah, congratulations on the new purchase.

A bit like the Octy I 4x4 hatch then, which had a subtle boot spoiler additional to the standard Elegance spec.

TP

That's the one TP. It's very discreet, about 1 1/2 - 2 inches in height but does do the trick.

Found this in our accessories system. £130 + paint.

Thanks Preston motors and octavia81 - I shall have a look for one :)

That and the sports pedals look quite nice.

Links doesn't work on the one above though...

That'll be the one that's not on the Skoda website then. :)

Be interesting to hear how you get on Ad Lav. Obviously you like white! :)

I do quite like white, apart from the need to wash it so often!

Should have it in a week or two, will give a run down then.

Might have to get the spoiler, looks quite subtle.

Picked up the Rapid this afternoon :)

First impressions - quite impressed! sports seats and 17'' wheels really help to give the car a sporty look along with the white paint and privacy glass.

Lots more toys! Cruise, climate and parking sensors to play about with :)

Front fogs etc act as cornering fogs too. Nice touch. Not as much oomph as the vRS estate I have just come from but goes well none the less!

Quite a gruff engine note which I like, a lot deeper than the vRS which was a tad quiet for a sports model.

Pics and more chat to follow :)

Worst pics from iphone and wet weather doesn't help...

Sorry - stupid photobucket editing not scrubbing plates...

Done 50 miles so far and really enjoying it despite the loss of 75 ponies and a DSG box.

Having said that just got a speeding ticket from the vRS on bank holiday monday so not a happy bunny...

Anyways, car is very comfortable and loving the addition of parking sensors and bluetooth phone prep etc is great - iphone connects as soon as I turn the ignition, no more pulling over to answer. Parking sensors mean I don't have to hang out of the car door to check the rear end! :)

White car again... stylish but gets dirty quick - remind me to get a colour next time!

Few neighbours never noticed I changed the car, others thought I had a BMW or Audi lol :)

thats one nice rapid enjoy

Many thanks :)

Wonder if anyone will bring out a rear diffuser with exhaust cut out, I think it's lacking at the moment.

Lowered slightly, xenons, subtle twin exhaust and diffuser, subtle boot spoiler and a remap.

Hmm... I blame Richard for my want of modding now he has a yellow one.

I shall ask this in VCDS/VAG Com area too but can anyone in the south east (kent) add needle sweep to my car?

And I want to know if one touch up windows can be coded?

If you find out how to do it, I can bring my VCDS to one of the Kent Meets at Maidstone.

And hurry up with the tweaking, you've only got an 11 week headstart now! ;):D

  • Author

Tweaking will most likely not happen for a while - our first baby due in 9 weeks! :)

Will remeber that, thanks Richard. I keep meaning to pop along to the meets!

Will be in Maidstone soon for speed awareness course... thanks to the Fabia vRS :( lol
