Guide to Fitting blueline JOMs ?

Featured Replies

guys, I cant find one on here, I was wondering if theres a guide to helping me fit my JOM coilovers..?

thanks in advance for anyones help :)

cheers!

Rear axle is a piece of cake just remove wheels and wheel arch liners 2 bolts holding the shockers up and a bolt through the bottom once there off you can drop the axel the springs will drop out then replace all the bits the adjuster cups will probably just bolt to the axel

Front bit harder remove wheels and start from the bottom and work your way up remove the shocker from the hub usually takes a bit of persuasion I dropped my subframe slightly on the bolts. The pinch bolt tho is a big spline can't remember the size tho. Once it's all out and loose open the bonnet and remove the 3 bolts holding it in and it will come out :) then reverse the process to put back together.

Hope this helps

you will almost certainly need a hub spreader tool for the fronts and you need to remove the thin spring plates that fit in rear beam if you wish to fit rear adjusters...level them out with a screwdriver

And disconnect the drive shaft too.

not necessary. undo ball joint and this gives more than enough room to get strut out.

if your still on standard suspension, compressing the springs slightly will help massively in getting the assembly out from the arch

I disconnected the drive shaft, but didnt undo the ball joint.

ah fair do's, either or will suffice

I didn't undo ball joint or take drive shaft out. Just spray around it with wd40 and keep hitting the hub with a hammer until it's loose enough to push down by hand and move the bottom of the shock out of its way. You don't need a hub splitter either just lots of wd40 and a lump hammer

life will be far far easier with a hub spreader, certainly upon reassembly (only £5 too) and you will struggle without disconnecting the drive shaft/balljoint

cheers for all your info and little ways of doing it, i managed in the end, was a reasonably simple job to do just dealing with previous owners round off strut bolt and drop link was a ball ache but got it sorted!

i just did what you did too kyle, **** loads of wd at bottom and used a big bar to lever arm down to release shocker

chuffed with the ride, for a cheap pair of coilovers they seem to be reasonably comfy ride aswell as having that rigidity and stiffness!

happy days, thanks again lads!
