Keechy's LE #298 - Including some Seat Porn, a few modifications and a set of 3SDM's

Featured Replies

That looks great! And, flying in the face of popular opinion, I think the ride height looks pretty spot on also...The wheels fill the arches nicely!

I really really want a set of 0.6's myself!

In the above picture I have got the old wheels in the boot so thats why it is sitting a little lower than normal. But I would like the rear that height standard and the front may need to be lowered about 10mm not too much.

There is a caddy van near me with 0.06's and they do look great.

That looks superb :)

Thanks guys.

Just made a little purchase from clean your car. So will be giving the octy the once over again as I'm not happy with the finish. So bought some scholl s17, 3m yellow polishing pad 145mm and an 85mm and some sonax bsd as everyone is praising it so much at the moment.

Just trying to find time In between all the over time I'm doing at the moment and keeping there other half happy. May be a few weeks down the line.

Then next on the list is another oil change, brake fluid change and some rear pads, may go for some Bosch OEM or some brembo OEM pads.

Next thing on the list is a good interior valet. Then a service when my friend comes back from Turkey, he can also lower the back finally for me at the same time.

Looks like it came out from the showroom, very professional   I need to lower my fronts tomorrow as I have enough gap to slam some more, thanks to my 215's :D

By the way 20th July is Sweetshop Automotive car show in Bristol, you certainly need to come down.

Check it out:

Thanks zeb, in the flesh it's a different story, really need my front bumper and bonnet re-sprayed and would really like to get my spoiler and rear bumper re-sprayed to get her looking showroom fresh.

But for the time being she will do :)

Il look into that sweetshop event. Not really a car show person normally. Only been to two in my life apart from local classic shows.

We will have to have a meet soon thou.

Look forward when your VRS gets the fresh look with the respray ;) Definetly we will have to meet up very soon, would you be able to arrange a meet up again in Newport area?

Quite a few members on here will be going, should be fine. I'll put the event on the south west section.

Looking good dude :)

Thanks guys.

Zeb a meet is in the pipeline it's just trying to get a day, numbers and a location sorted now.

Will post something up in the wales section later :)

A few beading shots of the sonax and dodo juice doing it's thing.

  • 3 weeks later...

Wheels have been kurbed    :wall:  Must say the words that came out of my mouth was not very pleasant.

Did it saturday evening after taking the other halfs dog for a walk. Went to the wheel specialists in Cwmbran for a quote on refurbing them 8am this morning and they came back with £180.00 as they are diamond cut and have to be put on a CNC Lathe.

Rang Awsome GTI up and they said they could do one wheel for £151.00 so no comparison, new wheel it was. Will be delivered tomorrow or Wednesday. Works out not too bad in the end, have a spare now if anything happens to any of the tyres in the future. May try and touch it up with some kind of touch up pen but for a spare I think it will do just nice.

Next thing it really needs is a service, so will start collecting bits and bobs and get that sorted end of the month.

****, that looks pretty bad. You should order wheel scuff protectors they protect the lip of the wheels.

That's what I have on my wheels.post-109843-0-71512600-1405962039_thumb.jpgpost-109843-0-79721400-1405962009_thumb.jpg

Yeah I have seen them. But wanted clear but couldn't find any at the time. Will have to try and have another look. Just hoping the 3sdm's will fit in the spare tyre well.

Ooh not good dude :(

I've given up on mine now there battered :D

Axe won't sell me these stainless lip covers seperate either :(

I was only on a low curb, but because the tires are slightly stretched I don't think there was enough protection from the tire. Never mind lesson learnt, never had any type of stretched tires on a car before. Note to self, must be more careful in the future, plus no more walks for the dog!!

Never mind thanks to Awsome GTI for sorting me out thou. Top service and will highly recommend anyone to use them.

Looking good dude. Sorry to here about the curbing incident. I think we've all done it and it's a sickening feeling. Others than that cars looking spot on. I almost went for a LE but couldn't justify the extra two and a half grand when I was looking for mine. Keep the project thread coming I love reading these thing and seeing the cars progress

Thanks, Wheel has now arrived so it will be fitted next week or week after now. Updates will start to slow down again, until I save for a remap, Then some more handling mods in the future. Maybe a rear anti roll bar may find its way onto the car in the near future.

I also want to get the interior done as I forgot to get it done with the rush up to my last holiday.

You should definitely get a rear anti roll bar on. It was the first mod I did and can't recommend it enough.

I have heard great things about them. I will have to look into it, What one have you got? I am swaying towards a whiteline adjustable.

Yeah it's the whiteline adjustable. Good quality and easy to fit. You can see why it works so well vs the oem. The difference in weight is quite extreme. I'm sure the original is a hollow tube as appose to the bar the whiteline is made of.

I will definitely have to look into this, what setting do you run?

Currently I'm running the medium setting but I've recently reading up about having it on the hard setting. Just a case of having time to adjust it.

Can I ask where you got your wheels from. I love the 3SDM 0.01s but struggling to find somewhere that sells them in black
