Hi guys,

While on holiday my Felicia decided to give me some grief.

My technical knowledge is lacking, so forgive the random terms.

The gear stick, as it joins the shaft underneath the car that leads to the gearbox, has a pivot with a ball joint type affair.

Where the ball joint passes up through, seems to be worn. This led to the ball joint popping out and having no gear selection.

A local garage was fairly ingenious and managed to pop it back in and wedge a nut and bolt next to it, to stop it popping out, as a temporary measure to get me home.

However, with the car having several advisories after the last MOT I'm trying to ascertain which parts will be needed, an approximate cost and if it's worth it!

I've attached a photo, I hope it helps. You can just about see the nut and bolt to the left of the ball joint.

Any information, technical terms for the parts and suggestions would be helpful.
