Snow Foam ....Magifoam certainly does the job!

LOL Citrus is not a waste it works better than foam, all products will harm an LSP shampoo's included

I always lightly spray the wet car with QD just prior to drying...will that not compensate for any loss of LSP... at least until the next time I wax?

I'm saying its a waste unless the car is very dirty...IMO

Snow foam will remove most dirt prior to a wash on a lightly dirty car..IMO there is no need to use both UNLESS the car is filthy

Not all products will remove your LSP..Many are pH neutral for that reason.

All LSP's..even boutique waxes like Swissvax and Zymol will degrade eventually, but you can slow this down by applying less aggressive cleaning products

Citrus needs a high dilution rate..as does snow foam...if diluted correctly degradation will be slowed...top up with a QD and rewaxing will be need done less frequently

Yes it will

Ive been using Sjarnagloss /Glaspro Hyper beader recently appled via a snow foam lance...It keeps my LSP fresh and slows down degradation

Other times I use Bilt Hamber QD and Meguiars QD

Chris, are you sure that's the right spelling? (Sjarnagloss/Glaspro Hyper) (I'm getting nothing on Google.)

Regards.

Mike.

It might not be.......

Sorry Mike..my spelling...You can see why!!

Correct: Stjärnagloss Glaspärla Hyper Beader

Available here:

Put 1/2 inch in the snow foam bottle and top up with water.

Spray onto the car and rinse off

Alternatively..put in a spray bottle and apply to a wet car by lightly spraying and then rinse off

Then dry with MF Towel

Use this code for 8% off: H9118

Thank you, Chris, very much. I'll get some on my next order.

Im sorry i disagree AGAIN.

Its not a waste infact citrus wash can be cheaper and even more economical than some foams its a placebo these foams.

I bet i can remove just as much dirt and grime with just water than i would with foam.

All cleaning products will diminish a wax or sealant think about it! Oh yes an wether the shampoo is PH netural or not the water you use will not be PH neutral.

All cleaning products will degrade LSP's eventually....Of course

Its not a placebo effect at all..I can see the foam running off the car taking dirt with it

All I'm saying is that I only use a prewash if the car is filthy...followed by VP ph Neutral snow foam and then a TBM wash with Gold Class Shampoo

This time of year..Just snow foam....no need for Citrus..I find it harsher than snow foam

I usually use a QD too after each wash to keep the LSP level up and as a drying aid

To Grizzle...If you can remove more dirt than Snow Foam can, with just water...fine..Well done

Personally..I cannot

Thanks for your post

To other thread readers: We all have our own wash regimes and anyone without the knowledge we both have, reading this, could be quite confused

Basically..whatever wash technique anyone adopts, the less dirt there is on the car before you touch it with a wash pad/mitt or even a sponge, then the less chance you will have of scratching the paint...LSP's vary in durability, but you can increase its life by adding a QD to your wash regime..or just top up your LSP every few weeks

Placebo = substance that has no effect.

Beg to differ!

All the snowfoam products Ive used have a positve effect on grit/dust removal. This is not a placebo.

The foam breaks the dirt down as well as lifting it off the paintwork making it easier to remove thus reducing the need for high water pressure after.

I have a medium powered pressure washer Nilfisk which does the job perfectly. Also have a Kranzle which is a beast and could

take the paint off easily if I attempted to sustain the continuous pressure required to remove the dirt without snowfoam.

I learned the hard way .

:)

I haven't used citrus pre wash, so can't comment on it's effectivness, but have used TFR, which does strip your wax off, so would suggest you avoid that unless it's part of prepping the car to rewax it.

I've used snowfoam for 6 months and it does leave the car cleaner than if I hadn't used it, so I will continue to use it before I then carry on to the TBM. I apply it before I go and fill my 2 buckets up by the time I've done that and gone back out to the car it's ready to rinse.

My Nilfisk pressure washer also has a dedicated nozzle for car paint- it sprays wider and softer than the normal ones so is more kind to my paint

Good advice there Ade

  • 2 weeks later...

Lance and magifoam delivered today from Autobrite so the cars got well and truly snowfoamed. Great fun!

Didn't seem to effect the Collinite either as there was loads of water beads on the cars, just need some stuff for a quick spray on at the end to top up the protection, any recommendations?

Fair getting into this washing the car lark.

Bilt Hamber QD....awesome

Bilt Hamber QD....awesome

I'll be ordering some of that then... this could get expensive.

Its a slippery slope........
