Yep, Thanks Josh....Oh and I met your mum at the ring at the weekend. :P

How much not to post your childhood stories?

Lol... I just posted in the ring thread to say that she's got some pics of your car.

How did you get on round the ring? She did an 11(ish) second run.

 Damn, was she doing warp speed? ;)

11 minutes is good though. I would be OK with anything around that time on my first ever encounter of the track. :D

Just read it thanks mate, i look forward to the piccys. I have a confirmed run of 9mins 55secs in the rain but a semi dry line, and an unproven one of 9 mins 40 secs in the dry and heavy traffic.

Sorry, I meant minutes, not seconds! lol

9:40/55 is realy good! Have you been before?

No mate, beginners luck I guess, that was my 7th lap. The 9'40 was my 29th lap. All the rest were 10 mins +

Although i'm not in this GB I would consider getting one at the after GB price for piece of mind even though i'm only going -25mm with the Eibachs spring/damper setup. Is this tray something that I could buy and take to someone like Jabba to fit? Sorry if this is a silly question but i'm mechanically retarded.

Also i'm wondering if the fitting of a fmic would get in the way somehow?

I can't see it being a problem with the FMIC...

Anywhere with basic tools and a lift will be able to fit this with no problems at all.

Around 15 minutes labour max.

BTW, the bracket arrived late this afternoon, so I had no chance to get it fitted... I hope JBS will be able to fit me in tomorrow, otherwise it'll be as soon as I can.

Thanks for the info Josh, good luck with the bracket. :)

Any more news yet Josh?:)

Yep...

1. I got the invoice today, so that's being paid tomorrow

2. The bracket that I received late on Friday last week didn't fit. It wasn't miles out, but basically, some of the angles were wrong. So, I sent it back, along with mine, so that they can copy mine. In hindsight, they should have kept my bracket after building it, then sent it me up with the guard after sticking all the angles into their cad/cam machine, but these things happen. I spoke to my engineering contact there today who confirmed that he's received the parcel this morning, and he was getting a draughtsman (sp?) to work on the design this afternoon. He'll give me a call tomorrow morning to advise when they'll be shipped... I don't think it'll be long now! :)

The plus side is that I'm getting a new manufactured bracket for my troubles, instead of my hand built one!

The new, machine built, bracket looks very nice indeed, even though you'll never see it!!

So, I reckon we're looking at next week for delivery. I'll let you know what he says when he calls back tomorrow.

I need them to be as quick as they can, because I currently have nothing under my engine!!!!

Just be careful over those speed bumps ;)

Thanks for the heads up

Hi Josh,

When you get time can you ask them when they can start taking orders for non GB purchases. I'm going to Jabba on the 14th Oct so that's probably not enough time now but if it was i'd be up for one.

Thanks again,

Josh,

Any update to when it will be delivered?

Cheers

Yep, I've been told some time next week... I'd expect the latter half for actual delivery.

The end is nigh!!!! :)

As for more guards, I was told that there would be a minimum order quantity of 5 in the future, due to the time taken to set up the tooling for the job.

So there'll be another GB once this one is successfully over!

I'm just waiting back for a "5 off" price.

Good timing, my car's gonna be on a ramp this weekend anyway I hope. I can't wait to safely lower the front end back down to what it should be.

Cheers Josh. :D

Well, touch wood, they all went out tonight!

Expect a knock on the door from a friendly Interlink Express man tomorrow or Monday.

Except for John in N. Ireland. Sorry mate, but the courier (and parcelforce for that matter) wanted around 40 quid to courier it to you, so I made the decision to have it sent out by Royal Mail Standard Parcels (insured). I couldn't find your contact details to ask you, so I did what I thought was best.

£15 vs £40 for delivery... Tough one lol.

I might even get my bracket back tomorrow too!!!

Thanks again Josh, perfect timing for fitting the BFOFMIC this weekend.

Nice one Josh! Will be ideal if they show up at work tomorrow, as the car's going to be up on a 2 post lift tomorrow getting other bits looked at - PERFECT timing if ever I saw it.

I'll be able to lower the front suspension back down a bit as well.

Cool :D thanks again for sorting it all out Josh!

Mine will be refitted just in time (well with a couple of weeks spare) for me having it raised up to "Winter" position and my OE wheels being put back on.

God I hate winter.

Any more news on the second batch?

  • Author

5 is the minimum order on all subsequent batches...

They still haven't given me a price though.

I'll try to get one asap.

thanks :)
