iPhone owners

I'm going to buy an octy 3 elegance in the next week or so.

I've already asked for the Bluetooth + but wanted to know has anyone used the car with their iPhone yet, what exactly can you do, and not do with it.

Do you need Bluetooth + to use voice controls

Do you need the mitsumi connection to be able to skip tracks etc on the radio from songs on your iPhone or will that work with the Bluetooth.

Do you see album art over Bluetooth / USB / or only on mitsumi etc

To fully control your iPhone you need the Mitsumi connection. There's been a lot of discussion here about bluetoothing music, using SD cards etc as if the Mitsumi connection was an expensive extra. It's £100. You can perform all tasks from the multimedia, skipping tracks, repeat tracks etc and yes, it does display album art. Simple plug and play. It will recharge your iPhone as well. Bluetooth + only enhances the phone signal.

So the Bluetooth plus is ONLY for improved connection, is it required for voice control or does that work without Bluetooth +

Is there a mitsumi cable for iPhone 5 and lightning connection

As Mitsumi is an OEM supplier to Apple I'm sure there will be an adaptor available, possibly from the Apple Store? Mine is an iPhone 4 so not a problem for me!

Bluetooth+ says ( voice & improved signal ) somewhere does it literally only boost signal or is it required for voice commands to the radio etc

If I got a mitsumi then can I ask the radio to play songs by certain artists on my phone which is connected in.

I realise Siri let's you do that but you need 3G to work it, and I'm in n.ireland we have v poor coverage.

In uk you have poor coverage. So why don't you just listen to sd's or play music via aux from ipods or vias bluetooth from iphone?

I currently have a fl elegance, and use ad cards all the time, it's great

However for £100 old like the opportunity to have control of the iPhone as well

Bump, anyone using these options with an iPhone already ?

I've just got my Octavia Estate and that already had Bluetooth fitted which works perfectly and I'm happy with that.

I've got an Iphone 5 and was also thinking of getting something to work where you get full artwork and iphone control for the music but haven't round anything yet.

The Bluetooth Audio is ok but I can only get it playing out of one speaker which is annoying!!

Where is the microphone

Bump, anyone using these options with an iPhone already ?

I'm using the Mistumi with my iPhone 4. It's brilliant and can't understand why anyone with an iPod / iPhone wouldn't spec it rather than faff around with Bluetooth (less functionality) or waste time putting the music already on an iPod /iPhone onto SD cards. Barking mad IMO. The fact that it recharges it as well is a bonus.

Because I will sell the car in a few years and nobody can guarantee Iphone will have the same adaptor and it's useless if I can play via bluetooth or aux.

I have an iPhone 5 at the mo and can't find lightning cable to connect to the mitsumi at the moment

You can buy an adapter but not sure it would work,

The cable is separate to the system though

So what's the point in buying he mitsumi?

Havent got iphone but have ipod classic but didnt spec mitsumi due to quick order so I have just bought a micro 64gb USB stick for £30 and put nearly all my music on it, works great and all album art etc shows.

So what's the point in buying he mitsumi?

Full controllability through the Multimedia. All artwork displayed - without the fluffing about of putting music that you already have on an iPod / iPhone onto alternative media, it recharges your Apple device at he same time. The negativity some seem to have for it here baffles me completely, you think it costs £1,000 not £100!

I agree Timoctav, £100 is pretty much nothing, for actual control over the iphone,

I so use the SD in my existing Octy all the time at the mo, and the Bluetooth playing is going to help as well, but from what I can tell you can skip tracks using the Bluetooth for some reason.

If I can be sure that I can get a lighting cable to connect it, its worth the £100

Does anyone know where the microphone for voice control etc is mounted in the car, and woud the position be affected by getting the sunroof option

You will also loose the usb mount and the aux too. So when you are selling the car pray that the guy you sell it to has the Iphone that will connect to that mitsumi adaptor and does not have any android or windows phone.
