What do you use the tray thingy for?

What sort of dog guard have you got? My Skoda dog guard fits perfectly still allowing the front flap on the roller blind to be opened.

When we first got ours it took a while to realise it was even there, same as for the under passenger seat box.  Still forget about it sometimes and then subsequently find things we've "lost".  Seems safer for small valuables than the glovebox therefore if you have to leave anything in the car.  Stuff does slide around in it though.

A roll of small garbage bags, a snowbrush / ice-scraper combo, an umbrella and some emergency flares.

I do remove it from time to time, whenever I need to fold down the back seats.

I've lined mined with that rubber 'dashboard' matting, and keep a torque wrench in there - not something you need every day of the week, but handy to know where it is :)

And a retractable umbrella

Hah, I tried that but my kite was too big!

Mine just fits, the bag actually sticks out both ends a little and I have to disassemble the kite a bit more than I would like. Its nice always knowing it is there though :)

My Scout never had one. Would fitment have been mutually exclusive with the roll up cargo-divider?

Either way, with a dog-guard there's no access to it now.

No, I have them both installed. Never actually used the devider, so it was the first optional to go on my mk3.

My brolly doesn't fit, too long. It does fit snugly against the back of the rear head rests.

In the tray, I took SJFISHER67's advice and put my spare bulb kit, a multi 12V adaptor, a grip mat and a small tool kit.

You can use all three together. Dog guard makes access to the tray a bit more tricky but it's still useable.

Sarge.
