Hi guys, newbie here. I know this question has been addressed elsewhere on the forums but I haven't been able to find an answer to the problem...yet. My wife has an old Skoda Felicia (1.3 T reg), it's a real workhorse but has no power steering so it can be a dog to drive until you build up some speed. That said it's seen several of my cars come and go so there it is. Anyway now that the rainy season is upon us again the driver footwell has started filling up with water to the point we literally have to bail it out in the morning with a plastic jug. Any ideas where it's coming from? I'm an amateur amateur mechanic (I drive a Rover 25 so really had no option but to start learning my way around its internal workings) and I can understand some of the patter but I'm not too good on the technical stuff so plain(ish) language would be benificial for me! Thanks in advance for any advice you can give.

Welcome Sorry i cant help but im sure someone will know. My fabia back doors let a bit of water in and its been into skoda 3 times already about it. Its not to the extent of yours though that sounds severe

I had this problem with mine, turned out to be the plastic film behind the door card had come away and was letting the water through. Do you park your car on a slant/slope? This made mine ten times worse, hardly any came in when parked on level ground.

Check if the bottom of the doorcard is wet next time it happens.

The most common cause is the windscreen rubber leaking, although I had water getting in from the engine bay due to the gutters under the windscreen being clogged with dead leaves; it was spilling over onto a cable loom and running down that - then luckily dripping off before hitting the fuse box.

Mine did this to turns out window screen at fault as had it out and sealed no water. My fun has same problem but thats got bad rust.....

Have the same car was round the front window rubber I stoped it with "Captain Tollys creaping crack cure" (what a name)

Sorted mine out been done over 2 years ago and still no water in the car great stuff.

If this is of use to anyone, this is where my Felly was letting in water, not the drain hole it self but water was getting between the 3? rusted panels and getting into car, had a constant, visible drip when it rained!

 

My funs like that lee going to chop the slxi conversion and use that as thats rust free it rusts because there not sealed
