Thought you were thinking of selling Mark or was that somebody else I'm thinking about.?

On occasions I catch myself lusting after the K04 Yeti's

That's pretty much everything besides the lines which you will need to change too.

The calipers are bolt straight on with the standard carriers they come with, the discs are specific 323mm size, the guy who had these before was running 312 discs but they aren't a correct fit.

The big difference is that the Brembo calipers and carriers are more expensive to source then discs and pads are much more too.

Thanks for that, yeah id imagine they would be a lot more, still wandering weather to go 312, these brembo 323, or r32 setup of a mk4 weather or not that would fit

But its all about the £££ lol

Oh and are the carriers built onto the callipers or come separate?

Apologies for silly questions

OK so tomorrow is Combe-Prep.

Going to show the car some love and give it as close to a full detail as I have time for.

I have some EBC Redstuff pads to be fitted.

Removal of rear ballast possibly, maybe strip out the rear bench seats.

Put on the furry steering wheel cover and hang the furry dice

Don't forget the "Powered by fairy dust" sign for the rear!

Great Photos Mark....And your comments are even better....!!!! :giggle:

Nice green mean machine. Was fast on track. I was going to go past and got along side but you kept your foot down and my balls were not big enough so tucked back in behind. You will be even quicker the more track days you do. Unfortunately my balls will still be small !

Who's the guy in the car with the blue and white checked shirt?

Me

Me

:D I did say hello to you and not your passenger then!

Car is looking great out on track! The Spacers do make a real difference to the look. I really hope to do a Briski track day soon!! :-)

Taking the car to an independent garage this afternoon for a quick inspection on the ramp.

Has developed an intermittent low speed manoeuvring/parking clunk since Combe.

Likely suspects are:

1: Something related to the slightly smeary looking redstuff pads - initially thought brakes binding/sticking but doesn't appear to be that.  I was a little concerned something had gone west with one of the pistons.

2: a suspension bush has split.

3: Something droplinky

4: a Spring that is turning in it's seat.

If front brake pad related, I ahve the OEM pagids to throw back in

if Suspension Bush then I will go full Superpro bushes erleir than expected.

Droplinks - replace if required.

Spring-happy days, reseat and forget.

If none of the above - scratch head and return to the top. :)

I'm optimistic it's not serious.

I welcome any and all suggestions for things to check whilst there.

Does it clunk only with lock applied at low speed - turn in the road, parking manoeuvre, that sort of thing?

If so I'd imagine it's bush or maybe CV joint-related.

It does seem to be when there is some lock on at low, so a possibility.

Driving gentle until identified.

Mine develops the same noice at low speed and been told these are my wishbone bushes which I'm upgrading with SuperPro ones in 3 weeks time...

Right...........................only a quick lift up on the ramp and quick fossick around the underneath of the car.

CV's fine - check

Bushes fine - check

Droplinks ok - check

Brakes remain a suspect.

NSF wheel is squeaky when rotated, not catching but squeaky :wonder:

I have two theories, the pad material under high heat (I blame James egging me on) viewed from outside the caliper has deformed and bulged at the edges.  I think a small part of the pad is touching the outside lip and inside lip of the disc contact area building up enough heat to make these small edge patches stick.  Supporting evidence to the theory is that their is a fine white line (possibly with some blue) at the outside and inside lip of the discs.

Either that or I have a piston which isn't moving completely freely.

either way I think:

My pads are goosed after one trackday :(

So I will go via somewhere on the way home and buy a set of punches to knock out the retaining pins to extract the probably dead red stuff pads, clean up the inside of the calipers and refit my OEM spec pagids.

Called in a favour from my tame mechanic John to make use of the lift at his garage this evening, should make the pad change a 20minute job.

Will post pics of the redstuff and their ahem "condition"

Hmmm, not very good but at least you've made some progress ruling components out.

Hope that's not an expensive fix Mark...
