Lol, no chance.  I think these expensive waxes are a rip off.

Always interesting to see everyones processes and products.  All much of a muchness with a savage amount of money wasted on certain fads/products IMO.

My process is

Wheels:

1 - Pressure wash the alloys and get as much gunk off as poss( No point wasting product when a jet wash does the most of the work for it)

2 - Apply wheel cleaner (bilbury wheel cleaner -diltuion dependant on the state of the alloys in question) - Agitate with various brushes.  Dwell for 2-3 mins then rinse.

3 - De-Tar with Tardis.  Dwell for 5 mins agitate if required, then rinse.

4 - De-Iron with Iron X.  Dwell for 5 mins or so then rinse.

5 - 2 layers of FinshKare 1000P sealant with a 30 min curing period.  (Done after the rest of the car is completed)

Car:

1 - Rinse car, low pressure to get the big bits of the car.

2 - Apply traffic film remover ( BH Surfex HD various dilutions) 5-10 min dwell.

3 - Rinse full power.

4 - Snowfoam (AMSnow 20-30 mins soak period) using only half of a 1 litre lance then rinse.

5 - 2BM wash with 3 mitts like yourself.  (AMBubbles).   2 x lambswool mitts for the paintwork and a microfibre mitt for the alloys.

6 - De-tar with tardis, rinse, the, De-Iron with Iron X as with the wheels, then rinse.

7 - Re-snow foam the car with the remaining half bottle of snowfoam.  Use wash mitts to wash the car with snow foam on it.

8 - Pressure wash the car, leave wet.

9 - Clay the car (AMClay)  doesnt need quick detailer, only water for lube.

10 - Dry the car with waffle weave towels.

11 - Polish with AM Glaze.  2 layers.

12 - Remove polish fillers and oils with  IPA 50:50 dilution.

13 - AM Glaze, 2 layers.

14 - Wipe down with IPA 50:50 dilution.

For an LSP ive got one of two options.

On friends cars i have done:

15 - 1 layer FinishKare 1000P. (30 min cure period)

16 - 2 layers FinishKare 2685 Pink (30 min cure period)

17 - 1 layerFinishKare 2685 pink (Cure overnight) Buff off in the morning.

Amazing finish.

However on mine currently, i have

15 - Sonax xtreme Protect and Shine Hybrid NPT

16 - Sonax Brilliant Shine QD.

The water beading and sheeting on the sonax products is INSANE.  Allegedly it lasts longer than waxes as well, and is a massive time saver.  So far im mega impressed.

Thats a full 6-8 hours lol.  Maint washes are just TFR, snowfoam, 2BM wash, snowfoam, QD. No more than 1-2 hours

Haven't polished or sealed the windows yet, its on my to do list.  but pure IPA cleans the windows with awesome results

Great routine and far better typed and explained than mine. Process is virtually the same. Haven't written it that way but often go wheels first.

One thing I'd query is IPA wipe after a Glaze, doesn't this take out a lot of the glazes goodness out (fillers)

I'm right there with you on the Sonax, neither is a classic product in that the QD feels odd to apply not slick at all but the result is so good, I'm convinced it would pass for a spray sealant if used on it's own?

Have in the past only used RainX after polishing windows so the new one will be interesting

Im looking at using the Gtechnik range for my windows.

Ref the IPA it will remove the oils, and residue that buffing has not removed.  It will also show up any defects that havent been corrected or covered well enough.  The main purpose though is to prepare the newly polished paintwork for sealant and waxing.  The sealant and or wax will bond to the paintwork and last longer after a wipe down with IPA.

Id recommend doing the Sonax xtreme protect and shine hybrid NPT for your protection, then use the Sonax QD to top it up after each maint wash.

Demo of how easy it is here. Net shield is the same as the xtreme protect hybrid but that latter is the retail version.

Use the glaze after the IPA wipe down and before your LSP

We need to see some dirty pics :D

Use the glaze after the IPA wipe down and before your LSP

Are you sure, I was always informed that the IPA is meant to be used post polishing to remove the oils left behind from polish.   Definitely yhr case with finsihing/cutting polish.  Would need to check again for a glaze though.

Yes...I'm sure

Glaze is post polishing and a pre LSP product

Its primary use is to fill swirls.....but if used after polishing and an IPA wipe down, will enhance the gloss of the just polished paintwork

In short...Polish the car...wipe down with IPA, apply Glaze if you want to and then your chosen LSP...(Sealer always before Wax)

my paint doesnt need correction so only using glaze on her

I did think IPA after glaze would take away the fillers.

This is why on mine I said maybe in future will try eliminator polish cleanser then wipe and straight to seal as naked paint gives sealant best bond for durability. Waxes are less fussy.

Glaze however I believe will give better gloss look under sealant but less durability.

Sy if your paint doesn't require correction then a more chemical based paint cleanser might also be an option, low on/to zero abrasives but will finish off any bonded contaminants. Although I expect your glaze has some cleaner so that's more or less where you are.

Too embarrassed unless it's to do a before and after

my paint doesnt need correction so only using glaze on her

You will need a LSP over the glaze as well

Sy is using Sonax Sealants

15 - Sonax xtreme Protect and Shine Hybrid NPT

16 - Sonax Brilliant Shine QD.

Oh...ok

I do normally use wax, but ive tried the sonax sealant as an LSP on it this time, and so far im suitably impressed.

Mark at Autobrite, nice fella that he is dropped in a free gift of some Meg's soft wash and a sample of Wolfgang Clay Lube, haven't tried either previously so look forward to seeing what they and my other new toys perform like.

WOW!!

Nice little haul you got there

Retail therapy at it's finest.

Always nice when something fun gets delivered.

Hoping for a detailing session this weekend.

Most looking forward to trying the Hellshine Eliminator, Abyss and Ghostrider

Or, if you already have applicators and MF Clothes, just buy the Sonax Profiline Polymer Net Shield instead and save some dollar http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/sealants/sonax-profiline-polymer-net-shield/prod_1179.html

Cleanyourcar let's you select the Sonax Xtreme Protect and Shine NPT without the kit, then it's a pound cheaper than the Profiline Polymer Net Shield :giggle:

If I hadn't been putting in the order with Autobrite this was a product I had been keen to try.

Might be a while before I do now though if the 6 months durability claim on the Abyss proves to be correct
