And after a couple of hours back to the rollers, a little noisier now though methinks.

So bearing in mind that the car is claimed to put out 180ps from stock or 177BHP and my objective of breaking 200bhp I was over the moon with the results.

213bhp and 270lbs ft

The curve doesn't run completely smooth as the map has made the handover from supercharger to turbocharger more pronounced but 200bhp+ from just past 4k right to 7k is fantastic.

Needless to say this has had a marked impact on how the car drives.

Registered the map with Admiral who have given me licence up to 225bhp for approx £100 per year addition to my policy  that's a green light to go stage 2 when funds allow.

Did you get a pre-map RR run done?

:) take another look at the graph Wardy.

Yes there was a before and after, car ran 184bhp and 240lbs ft with the stock map and intake.

........that's the blue line

very useful power curve... if you change up at 6.5k it will drop to about 4.5k... so you will "always" have more than 200bhp available on full throttle :)

Can anyone offer any thoughts how that dip can be worked out of the delivery?

Is it a back pressure thing?

Ahhh this minds me alot of my mean green when i had it :)

Except i went with a revo map instead of apr...at the cost of a hpfp(not necceserly down to the map but it happened a month after the mapping)

Very nice car there and i hope all goes well for you :)

I wouldnt worry about the dip, its negligable....

Shiny shiny, but forgot I still had to dress those tyres.

For anyone interested I am currently using Sonax Xtreme Brilliant Shine Detailer in between waxes and it is phenomenal, it's as protective as a top end spray sealant, looks nice on the car, smells like the tropics and beads like a plastidipped Otter.

Currently short term plans include:

Big 40k overhaul service inc brake fluid upgrade to RBF600.

334mm twinpot R32 Front Brake Setup with either Yellowstuff or another performance pad.

Either new wheels or wheel refurb. New wheels would be looking at something 7.5/8J for more rubber on the road

Bilstein B8 dampers

Upgrade to a bigger intercooler to keep those IAT's frosty

Beyond that maybe go Stage 2

Have been eyeing up a Jetex 3" downpipe with 100cell racecat which should mate to the stock catback and retain OEMness.

Taking suggestions beyond that.

So far ruled out are:

Spacers

Coilovers

Loba Turbo Hybrid

Water Meth Injection

I would be really interested in a review of the bilstiens.. alot of money, so would like to know the benefits! your stated mods will probably bring it up to a nice optimum :)

Great thread and great car...... I'm thinking of living vicariously through this thread!

Yeah, my only concern is that I could peak too soon and be left twiddling my thumbs.

I just read the Beti the K04 Yeti thread and have fallen in love with the idea of picking up a Yeti next, 1.8tsi Haldex 4x4 and going for some 320BHP hybrid action

that is a cool thread, and a weapon of a car! :o

So after some deliberating, once the 40k service is dealt with I will have enough left in the car fund for one last upgrade before Christmas. This could be one of the following.

R32 brake kit - twinpot calipers 334mm discs (inc full refurb and paint to red) believe these are a simple bolt on fitting (which is nice)

Or

Intercooler Forge - Awesome GTi offered a competitive price fully fitted.

Or

Bilstein Dampers

I'm erring towards the brake kit

What would you lot do?

Dampers.

Dampers.

Lol, saw that coming you just need someone to test drive and review the B8's for you
