  • Insurance renewal time :( Now I had a big heavy slate fall off my roof and hit my car in the winter storms.... this cost £1500 to repair, I was dreading renewal time, as I knew they would sting me, as

yes... it appears to be fine, but all its done is drive me to work, and some driving lessons, it hasnt really been hammered at all, its first trip out will be next weekend at coomb :)

Might be worth chucking some braided lines on as well.

Id take brake fade over long brake pedal travel all day long

yeah, didn't like the loss of pedal... new fluid will be going in before coombe... never though of braided lines.... (I did that to my old uno turbo!) will see how it goes :)

Don't stress, changed my fuild the old fashion way and 9 month later and still ok. Braided lines would be nice and if you are bleeding the lines. It would be the best time to do them now unless of course you have a caliper upgrade planned.

PS... Been using the yellow stuff pads on the street for a week and in everyday driving they work better then the Remsa pads. For the first couple of days I found myself braking too much.... So far all positive.

slight problem, not much left of my pads! seems these are only going to last 10k! :o may have to invest in the tarox corsas.... bloody expensive though! they need to last until 30k anyway! lol...

Ooh not to much durability with the yellowstuff then?

they have been hammered! lol.... like ALL DAY at Blyton park with a 100mph stop 3 times in one lap lol.... + another two track sessions... and about 8k driving roads :) they should last the final 2k! my OE lasted 10k..... so they have approx the same life as OE pads...

driven normally (like my last vRS) the fronts were less than 50% worn at 50k.... but I have driven this car allot harder :)

Try the BREMBO pads. I cannot complain so far

well the super blue fluid worked... no brake issues at all! I think this is the first time I have driven this car on track without having brake issues. very happy :) new tyres on tomorow for the ring next weekend, I'll check the pad depth then ;)

Great Stuff Dave. I bet you pleased that you didn't spend the money on the pads now and tried the fluid first...;)

although they are nearly worn out anyway lol... I'll replace them with the same, yellowstuff :)

new front tyres fitted today for the ring next weekend! my local mechanic thinks my pads will be fine, I have spent a whole £20 on some pattern parts to keep in the boot just in case, If they are not needed, I'll sell them on flea bay! :)

Done 1,000 miles since Friday, just checked my oil before hitting the nurburgring, it's still at max :)

8 laps of the green hell completed, half of them wet ! And all is well with phantom :) average ten minute laps , with lots of traffic, moving for people, people getting in my way ect, quite happy with it, a great weekend :)

Ten second laps! Fighter jet :D

  • Author

I'm happy with that considering traffic and weather ! :p I'll get vids up when I'm back in the uk :)

Awesome, sounds like you had a great time :)

  • Author

well, 2,000 miles since friday, and now 7 laps of the ring, all the way home yesterday, still used no oil, ran perfectly, even though I spanked it to death! lol.... brilliant little car!

  • Author

I will be posting vids when I can be bothered to load them up :)

average ten second laps

Does that now make you the road car record holder?

Does that now make you the road car record holder?

Yes, by quite a large margin. :D

12 miles in 10 seconds requires average speed of 4,320 mph (I think).  Supersonic baby!
