I don't see the mention of a remap in your signature.

*bored :)

You need to drive a custom remapped car with big stoppers and decent rubber. You will say wow then.

Remapppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppp :)

Thats dead boring playing with the valve.

You want to get in the car and actually drive it.Far more of a wow :)

Or get an octy vRS as stated :D

Personally, I think if you get bored with the Furby you'd get bored with the Octy as well. After all, that is even more refined than the Furby, and a lot of cars do have a feeling of "detachment" when you drive them IMO. I can see the Octy with its added refinement as being an even more detached experience than the Furby. Both cars are not particularly focused, very refined fast tourers, and are too soft to keep a keen driver interested.

I'm not sure modding is the way to go either. A remap will make it go faster, sure, but then you'll notice the cars other drawbacks. As it is, the car is not as well "rounded" as it could be and a remap will make this worse.

No, I suggest a car that gets back to basics. One that makes a good old racket when you drive it, delivers lots of feedback through the wheels, and one with excellent handling. Unfortunately neither the Octy or Furby will deliver this.

I have a Mk2 Golf, and I find it far more fun to drive than the Furby, even though it is pretty much a slower car in most situations (although not much slower). When you drive it around, it is noisy, and the handling is excellent, its easy to chuck this car around. Its even more fun to drive at normal speeds because it gives more of an impression of speed. Its always more involving than the Furby which makes things too easy. If you want to go fast, you have to work for it in the Golf.

It sounds to me like you want something more hardcore than any Skoda will give you. Look at some of the old hot hatches like mine, or a 205 GTI. Or even some of the more modern hot hatches, I'm thinking Clio 182 is the obvious candidate here, or even something like an Ignis Sport. Or a Civic Type R.

The problem is, there arent many truly hardcore cars around now, but that appears to be what you want. I would avoid the temptation to get another soft and refined car that practically drives itself, as seems to be the case with many modern cars nowadays.

Paul,

Take your car to the Ring :D

Shifty, Which Busted album? Which one do you recommend? (I have 2 in the car already) :D

How is the Golf now, Paul? Over the worst of the bumps?

I'm not sure if you are trying to take the p*ss or not, but i never claimed it was faster, just that it delivers an enjoyable driving experience.

Nick, it does seem to be over the worst TBH. Just a few niggles.

Do you know, I haven't a clue. I was too busy enjoying the moment, Blackpool prom, wind blowing through my eyebrows, and "thats why i crashed the wedding" in the background. All in the pimpmobile of course.

I'm not sure if you are trying to take the p*ss or not,

And where better to take it with no fear of being nicked? You get the drive down on the autobahn, cheap booze on the way back, a break from t'pther half and the chance to legally rag the nutz off your motor - regardless of what it is :)

I agree about the enjoyable driving experience, my golf is probably on par with the fabia, maybe a bit quicker being a petrol screamer and having had them both round knockhill its a completley different drive, the fabias great, i always come off smiling but the golf has that "rawness" its got the shocks wound right up and squatted to the ground, noisy as hell and vibrates like a mofo about rattles your teeth out, but oh my god does it handle. for the track experience I'd take the golf any day.

Shifty, that's on the 2 I have in the car - A Present for Everyone and A Ticket for Everyone :D

Borrow a truly awful car for a few days. Then your car will wow you again.

Dear A.g.Morley,

You are duly invited to a meeting of frustrated owners who on a daily basis get bored, this is your chance to have a wag, pint and potter, hopefully on a Sunny evening.

I find it a quite superb tonic to refresh the boredom of car buds.

If nothing else reminds you that most cars are most cars and your car is a most car to the owner of another car, pretty much like any other car.

Hey if your bored pop over27th, see NW meets ;)

If your bored with the car, as said above, chances are your going to find the same with others. I was with mine on a number of occasions. I fixed it by going for a drive on my own or with a few others, or changing somthing on the car, eg ARB's. Had I not done them I'd possible of sold it by now...spend to save :)

Or just change it :D We all change, 3 years is a long time, if you can stand it fiscally then do it :D
