  • Thats got me thinking...     These bags will probably come in handy for any of you that likes to go dogging...     All that panting would usually mist the windows up in record time, especially i

  • "Annoying as I don't really want the aircon on all the time as it's not mpg friendly." Doesn't make much difference to the mpg in the Citigo, rather be able to see through the windows than save a mi

  • No fuss from me Just found it annoying sat in the works car park 5 mins after everyone else had gone home Only sharing my purchase findings, thats all If people dont feel the need or have the same

We had the usual condensation problem in the Octy and Citigo.

Bought one of the large crystal bags from Robert Dyas, about a tenner.

Hung it in the octy boot and so far all good :)

It's been in there about a month and is just coming to a recharge.

Going to get one for the Citigo too.

The only time I've ever had a misting problem on the Citigo is when I've accidentally left the air vents on the "recirculate" setting. Other than that it's always been utterly fine.

You seem to be referring to misting while driving...this thread has been about the condensation found inside the window glass (mainly windscreen) when the car has been parked up for several hours in low temperatures.

It's funny you say this, when I first picked up the Citigo I was unaware that the dealer had left the setting on recirculate and when I drove the car it would mist up.

I just assumed that the symbol that wasn't covered up was what setting you were on, as this was how I received the car, but didn't take long to figure out it was on the wrong setting.

I've yet to see mine mist up :)

I've just had the same realisation. My car's been steaming up since I collected it yesterday unless I had the air con on.

Yep I had to keep the A/C on too, I thought this can't be normal lol

It was about to be the first item on my snag list.

Same here same here haha!

Hi Oxon, perhaps I was referring to the wrong issue, but I think that's only because I've never experiences any condensation issues as described.

Apart from when I go dogging...

I've just ordered some of these. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Thomar-604100-Dehumidifier-ThoMar-AirDry/dp/B002OC2REY

I had been sing cat litter in a tub up to this point, which works reasonably well, untill someone steps on it and it spills everywhere.

Just checking back to let you know how I'm getting on with the Thomar dehumidifier pouches...

I have them both on the parcel shelf... they work really, really well. They seem to last just under a month before they need popping on a radiator when used in my car. I leave them there overnight, and they're good to go again in the morning.

The pouches themselves are very sturdy, with the base made out of something that feels like a groundsheet from a tent. As they're in three sections, they can be cut up into smaller pieces and spread around the car too... I haven't bothered with this though.

It would appear the new i10 has similar problems with the windscreen condensation/misting and the blowers taking an age to demist.

great little car............but the moment it rains the windows steam up.........most annoying. no leaks, dry carpets, dry clothes and only the driver

shudder to think what the problem is like if you have a car full of damp sweaty people. Air con helps a little.

Suspect it is because the car is too well sealed?!

I had 2 Austin Maxis which never had this problem, and no aircon. They had a little flappy panel in the tailgate door that ventilated the car

apart from a faint rattle on a very rough road worked faultlessly.

opening a window helps a little but can allow rain into the car

Turn air circulation off and take fresh air from outside. If you have not already done that.

And use heat - I recall my father used to believe that you delisted with cold air, until my 10 second demonstration proved he was completely wrong!

FWIW, Skodas (and therefore VWs) have excellent heating/demisting/ventilation systems in my experience of 2 Octavia's, 4 Golfs, over about 750k miles, and my Citigo works fine too!

For sure max heat. And blower speed 3.
