hey all

 

it has now come down the crunch that i will need new disks and pads now i know which disks i need and same goes for pads. but looking at ecp there our two pads available one at about 48 another at 40 but i am not sure which is the right one only thing i can see different is the more expensive one has no wear  warning contract but the cheaper one just said's with wear indicator sensor. also there is a slight height difference of .2 if someone could point me in the right direction be mighty grateful

pagid are more than adequate for every day use, I have them on a few cars from a Lupo to a V6 Golf.

I just got pagid all round off eurocar parts using discount code CHILL25 saved me a fortune even though they're cheaper than elsewhere on the internet anyway

Got my Pagid Discs and pads last night too :-) didnt need the promo code tho as they were already discounted?

told me the promo codes were invalid.

 

discs and pads totalled £77 and some change - including 3 day delivery to ROI :-))

(2 different main dealers over here quoted me near €50 per disc, and another 50 odd for the pads!!!!)

You made the right call & yes ECP promo codes don't work when they're running discount campaigns.

I'm glad I stumbled across this thread as I went to TPS yesterday with the intention of buying a set of disc's and pad's for my Fabia running the 312 and 256 setup and they wanted £200+VAT for the full set.

Yeah the ptomo code has seved me £100's in the past, but has never worked for me when they already have a discount campaign on those parts.

They've had one campaign after the other recently so it's been a while since I've been able to use the promo code.

I checked the price last week and it was same with Chill25 as what i paid without any promo codes... all were invalid, due to the sale.

 

Also... Dont worry Shadow Entity, i bought 2 discs!!!

I'm going to be replacing my worn out discs and pads soon with these pagids but just out of curiosity first, are these something that has to be declared to the insurance company?

 

Or is this just the same as if someone were to choose budget tyres over say Goodyears?

id imagine its like replacing any parts on your car, they arnt upgraded or bigger / modified brakes, just a different company, so.... nope?

I would think along your tyres analogy too. just a brand / quality change, not a performance upgrade as such.

Pagids are IIRC 'OEM spec' so no worries, I use them, as do many others on here. If you're really concerned, you could call your local TPS (Trade Part Specialists) and get them to quote you a price. That way they will be OEM.

Personally I'd just get the Pagids. Don't forget, brake fluid also needs changing biannually.

I take it none of you on pagids have ever had to mention this to your insurers, or in times of making a claim had the brakes questioned. TBH on all the cars I've had I've replaced the standard brakes with "better brand" ones and never crossed my mind that this might be considered as a mod. 

 

As for the brake fluid, should that be done by skoda or will a reliable local garage suffice?
