Slight Flaw in Material on Drivers Seat

Featured Replies

Just throwing it out there for thoughts

I collected a new VRS Combi mid October, within a couple of days I was back at the dealership informing them off a slight flaw in the material in the drivers seat I had noticed and also a slight paint imperfection (a small limp/lip in the paint on the edge of the door)

Anyway dealer put it to skoda and the material for the seat is on order and to be replaced under warranty, 5 weeks later the dealer is waiting for the part with no sign of a due date.

I am wondering if I should be accepting this kind of repair, I guess the not gonna change the seat ,

Frustrated also that they aren't gonna look at the paint issue until it's in the workshop for the seat

Any thoughts any one ?, should I speaking to sofa UK

Also any one know anything more about mudflaps on the VRS if they should/shouldn't be there

The vRS doesn't have mudflaps no, thank god.

I definitely wouldn't be speaking to Sofa UK. Skoda UK may be your best bet.

Mudflaps aren't standard. Somebody on here has fitted them onto his VRS though - I'll try and find the thread.

A good trimmer can make a totally invisible repair in a seat, so I wouldn't worry.  They're probably trying to minimise cost though - material is going to be a few quid whereas a seat (as a complete part) would probably run to hundreds?

I doubt they've ordered 'material' for the seat... They'll have ordered the complete cover for the the relevant part, either top or bottom half of the seat.

I had a rover a few years ago with a seat flaw, they put a new cover on to fix it,i agreed as long as its a quality repair,it wasnt,so because id given them a chance they couldnt argue that they had to put a new seat in,which they did,so id suggest give them a chance first,it makes your case stronger for a new seat if they mess up,dont just check the repair, pay attention to the rest of it as they may have damaged another bit doing it
