Hello,

Just a note to say I've had one of the front seat covers replaced under warranty.

There had been small fuzzing / bobbling patches on front and rear seats mostly where I've previously cleaned off dirty marks or something has caught the material. The front passenger seat however seemed to be affected much worse than the other seats and had loads of pulled threads, even although it is used far less than the driver seat. Dealer arranged for this to be recovered, but also advised my passengers should wear different trousers.

this has put me right off buying a fabia now. this fuzzing is common fault in the a3 too.

wish i could go back to the octy vrs. leather is best. damn new house looming

6k miles and both front seats are fuzzing or another word rhyming. I'm going to aim for a replacement, but is there any chance of a contribution to leather ya reckon???

do skoda offer money towards leather retrim as this would be a win win situation. iv not got a fabia vrs yet but am orderind an 07 reg one and im a little concerned after reading this

You can but dream. No chance. They've not admitted anything.

Hello

My seats started fraying after 1000miles. I went back to the dealer and said wear&tear. Now ive done 26K in the last year, the car being on a 55 plate, and I am having problems with the gearbox being clunky and not smooth. Anybody else?

Its got to go in to the workshop for a week now, they'll probably give me a 1.2, 3cyl to replace it too!

sell the skoda, poor produst and customer back and get another vehicle

Ya what?

Alex can you not give Skoda Uk a call about the seats while still under warranty or try another dealer...

My Fabia now just turned 60 000 shows no signs of fraying but was not bought new so no i dea about its first 49000 miles. Haws however been jewlultra diamond brite finished don't know if that anything to do wiv it tho.

Hi waynef, can relate to this as after a week in my new vrs I noticed fraying/fluffing on my passenger seat. I voted in the pole and will keep an eye on it to see if it gets worse.

Thanks for the thread as it has got me wondering about a couple of other things that I will ask briskoda soon.

cheers.

I've just noticed some slight fuzziness to the base of my drivers seat, probably where my trouser belt has been rubbing. It's a shame after just 6 months and 8000 miles. I think seat covers look awful so I guess theres not a lot i can do. I'm thinking maybe i should have paid the extra for the diamond brite protection they tried to sign me up for on purchase, think that covered things like this. I'm sure skoda won't be bothered to sort it as they will just declare the 'wear and tear' factor as they do with a lot of things! I've also noticed that the side bolster has started to wear and become mucky, think this i happening as i slide into the car.

Why don't we the Skoda Fab vRS owners with the seat cover problem band togeather and consider a Class Action against Skoda UK, after all 123 people is enough for this to happen. Skoda cannot defend against 123 people also Skoda would have to consider negative publisity in the wake of the new Skoda Fab Mk2 release. If we do not do something then it is us the owners who have this problem being laughed at as Skoda will do nothing if we do nothing so whats the point in voting on this thread if we the owners do nothing..

Avoided this problem by having leather fitted at dealers on ordering car. I know have a full set of vrs cloth seat covers if anyone would like to make me an offer. No sensible offer refused.

I am new here, just joined as my drivers seat is fluffy at the front bolster and I'm going to see Skoda this afternoon to see if they'll do anything about it.

I'm not happy that this seems to be a common problem, but at least I'm not the only one.

Mine's done 23600 miles, bought 2nd hand at 22900 and the seat was fluffy then.

Not good that this should happen so soon.

I've had my vRS since sept 06 and covered nearly 11k miles with no sign of seat wear/fuzzyness, infact the seats look exactly the same as they did when it had 18 miles on it.

The Fabia Sport seems to have the same seats as the vrs but in a black cloth which feels much more hard wearing. Would be good if skoda offered this as an option with the vRS logo embroidered in as well.

Hi.

I've got a 55 reg VRS with 27k, and both front seat covers are 'fuzzing'. I'm picking my car back up from the dealer tomorrow (knocking from front, buzz from door panel, creaking clutch pedal & rubbing noise from engine :thumbdwn: ). I'll be sure to mention the seat covers to them as it sounds an issue!!

I'll report the problem on your link too.

My courtesy car was an 07 reg estate. Same front seats as the VRS, but with a black, harder wearing cover. Looks like they threw all the nice stuff on the Fabia's in the 'run out' stages!

I'm going to start another thread later to do with the knocking. They say it's the NSF shock which they are going to replace, but good practice is to replace shocks in pairs. I'll argue it out in the morning.

Rob.

My car is a 2005 Fabia vRS. Having reported the problem of fuzz on the driver's seat bolster and paint bubbling on one alloy to Park's, Hamilton, the desk guy there couldn't even be bothered to get off his butt to come and look, he just said that both were down to wear and tear and therefore not covered under warranty.

Subsequently, I visited St Andrew's (now Henry's) Skoda, Glasgow and am now delighted to report that both items are being replaced, under warranty.

I presume Park's are happy with the desk guy; this customer, sorry ex-customer certainly isn't.

Be warned!
