Congratulations on passing the test, now enjoy the car.

Well done Jay :-)

Enjoy your driving and take care.

Good to hear, I passed second time too, pulled out in front of someone at a roundabout and made them slow down a bit, was thinking I was waiting too long and they would fail you for that.

But anyway, congrats, enjoy the car and at least you're not starting off with some piece of crap like I did.

Congratulations...a nice Xmas pressie

do take care :) enjoy your car, and look after yourself and it!

Congratulations. I remember that feeling well although it was a while ago now. A great feeling so cherish and hold onto it.

You have the right to moan about learner drivers now ;-)

I'm southeast (ish) and may well head to a meet next year too, I doubt I'd miss your Monte if you're there so I'll say hi. I think my 1st car had 40ish bhp and 4 gears... but being a mini it was way cooler!

Well done Jay, congrats

Please don't be another statistic...

The real learning starts now!

Take care

Damo

Well done. Take care out there, this time of year the weather can be horrible and other drivers can be concentrating on other things.

Nice early Christmas pressie.

I was moaning about them when I was one, and some that had passed. Overtook a few cars in the instructor car while learning. Guess it helps with judging these things too I suppose.

And isn't it a bit of a let down when you pass your test, they tell you and you say to the instructor am I driving back and he says no you're not insured for it anymore. The first thing you want to do is drive home but you cant.

Congrats, drive safe. I believe Briskoda members are always good drivers.

Well done!!!!!

Congrats Jay, just seen this.

As above, stay safe and enjoy the car.

It has made my day that this particular Monte will now get driven as well as washed and photographed. :)

Thank you everyone!

Well done. Statistically, second attempt passers are supposed to make better, safer drivers (As do motorcyclists). Dunno how, my guess is they fail, take a bit more tuition and pass, learning the value of obtaining the licence and do not treat it with contempt.

As for the comment about driving home and insurance. Slight red herring there, you can still be insured if you are being taught further, which is what will be happening if the instructor removes the L-plates and offers guidance and advice. The main point is that, if you fail, you will be upset but on passing, you may be elated to such a degree, that you will be on a natural "High" and perhaps be a danger to other road users. Much safer, therefor, to be driven that first journey back home, by the instructor.

I passed second time and passed my bike test first time round.

Didn't have a car straight away but my Dad wouldn't let me drive his car for a week after I passed as he said I'd probably end up wrapping it, when I look back, he was probably right.

When I passed my bike test, my instructor just told me to have a blast on the instructor bike on my way back to his unit, didn't go mental but it felt great just hooning about without anyone watching me!!

Take it easy until you get a few miles under your belt, don't wrap your car when you're just starting to enjoy it especially after the work you've done to it.

When I did finally get my first car I nearly crashed it on the first night coming off a spiral slip road off the A1, it was a brown underpants moment but I only had myself to blame, never did it again.

Congrats fella, looking at your profile your only down the road il keep an eye out for you Monte lol

well done on passing, another briskodian from medway :) may see you around what part of medway are you from?
