Windscreen wiper speed

Featured Replies

With all this inclement weather we seem to be having, has anyone noticed that the new octy 3 wiper max speed seems a bit slow?  I've tried the stalk in several positions, but it doesn't seem to wipe anywhere near as fast as my old Clio, I could hardly see the road the other night in the rain.

Has anyone else noticed this, or am I missing out on something?

I've tried both with automatic, and in the manual positions (that I know of).

Mike

No problems with mine

I propose two different answers:

A. That seems to be a major fault. I'd recommend you take it back to the dealer and ask them to look into it ASAP.

Probably worth giving SUK a call too.

God knows it could end up in a major recall.

or

B. There will probably subtle differences in the speeds of the wipers used by different manufactures.

It's not terribly slow, just not particularly great. Although it was pretty much like a monsoon the other night when I noticed it. It's much slower however than all my previous cars.

It's deffo Slowene than The wifes Merc C class Solution to this is Slow Down Abit :-).

Also try applying rainx or autoglym glass cleaner which should help a bit.

Be careful putting 'products' on the windscreen, in my experience you can get smearing which will make vision even worse!

I detail my cars regularly but tend to just clean the windscreen, also don't forget the blades.

As previously said, if you can't see well enough, slow down!!

Never had any issues using autoglym (cream) on the inside and outside of my windscreen.

Inside is fine, I've had issues previously with a thin film of water for a second or two after the wipers pass.

I just prefer not to put anything on the windscreen now, each to their own tho.  I use it on all the other windows, and the lights and mirrors.

I use RainX and it's brilliant, the faster you go, the quicker the glass clears. If it rains on the first trip out after applying, and you're on the motorway, the intermittent wipe hardly activates as it just clears itself!

Meths & water real ole sckool stylie

I don't recomend drinking though, tastes aweful and you get sh!tface real quick.
