What options did you go for?

You ordered after me and yet you're getting yours before me.

I think I might have been a victim of dealer quotas.

Hi I ordered the below spec, my order was accepted by factory within a week and given a build week 19 then 17 back to 19 before week 17 confirmed. I was quoted 20 to 22 weeks from order . I no my dealer ordered the car the same afternoon that I paid my deposit I have been lucky as I have always had a build week.

Hatch TSI

Meteor Grey/red inserts

Black Pack

Kessy

Sat nav

Bluetooth plus

Heated front seats

Heated washer nozzles

Cruise control

Colour maxi dot

space saver.

Thanks for the reply, your options are different to mine, the only options we share are Black pack & the Colour Maxi Dot which for me comes with Columbus, you didn't say which sat nav you have gone for so I have (rightly or wrongly) assumed Amundsen.

There is hope for me yet, hopefully with it being dealer update day tomorrow, I might get a phone call.

Spoke to dealership this morning, order went through 17th December, still no build week showing and advised to call Skoda uk. Spoke to customer services, and was told build week 35!!!!!!!!!!! End of August/start of September! They couldn't explain why such a late build week, and are escalating it to for us but could not help any further and advised to contact our dealership again.

Not happy!!! Trying to decide what to do now!

My experience of SUK is that they don't escalate anything. As for going back to your dealer, that is just fobbing you off as they know even less.

35-weeks is a lot but at least you've got something to argue with. A lot of us don't even have a BW. I ordered Nov 27th.

I guess its a VRS Estate you ordered? TDI & DSG?

Estate vrs, tdi not dsg, they only got the build week today. Before the vrs I currently had we had a long wait for our Octavia estate, but they compensated us and Skoda uk were quite good and handled it very we'll.

We are definitely aware they are fobbing us off, the dealership are being really good, they had a call back from Skoda uk about it and we're not impressed with the guy in customer services so are working on it for us now. Just waiting for more infomormation from them. They did say that we had rung and suddenly a build date had appeared which they had not had before I rang!

Oh my. That is still 17+ weeks away, add at least another 3 for build, ship, pdi, register and collect.  I'd take a serious look at other options. The plan b thread might help. Then you can argue for compensation from an informed position and you can make an informed choice.

Since it's an estate I assume space is important.  Maybe take a look at the Mazda 6 sports back.  I looked at a hatch Mazda 6 and it is a lot of car.  No vrs though.  Ultimately the harsh ride and total lack of any kind of spare wheel or anywhere to put one even put me off.  It is still a nice car though, with a lot of gadgets as standard.

Just had a call from dealer today good news apparently they are now seeing my order show a build week didn't mention which other than it was in August. To be fair threw me totally of guard so I think they got away without me losing the plot as I didn't know whether to laugh or cry.

I spoke to SUK yesterday and mentioned that a lot of cars ordered after mine have already been built and delivered. They have said they would require evidence of this before they look into it as they seem to think we are all trying to damage the brand by suggesting that the supply chain is not operating as it should be?

If anyone who has ordered a vehicle after the 3rd of December and already taken delivery of it would mind helping us out. All SUK have asked for is order numbers of the vehicles. They have said they will look into the supposed inconsistency in how they are building the cars. If you do not want to share this on the thread please PM me with the order number obviously the more the better so I can try and fight the corner a little bit as they seemed bemused when I said people are taking delivery of cars who have ordered subsequently to me. Any help with this would really be appreciated as it would be quite interesting to see if the skoda lottery does actually exist of if SUK will admit to it anyway.

They know full well how their order system is running and that there is obviously a lottery of sorts. Not entirely sure why they've asked for evidence other than to send you on a wild goose chase. Have they said what they'll do if you prove it?

I order 29th December and will be picking up next Wednesday and you can have my number if you like but doubt it's going to help. Do you know where to find the order number? It's not on any of the paperwork I have.

I thought the issue with older orders was because they came with Front Assist and ACC if specced as a choice. Obviously newer orders won't have those and they are what's holding things back?

Alternative theory, the vRS now has much higher interest rate and deals and if they can get those done sooner means more money... less so for those who got 0% PCP + 3 years servicing...

I had to contact the dealer for my order number. As I was hoping to track my order on the track my Skoda site but that hasn't worked out either.

My theory is they got caught out by the demand for VRS and cant meet the quoted the 16-20 week lead time. Since the New Year they quoted longer lead times and seem to be keeping to these. As the rest of us are already inconvenienced (to put in midly!) we keep being pushed back in the queue so as not to add more customers to the list!

It just seems to be VRS Estates that are the longer waits. Why? What does a VRS Estate have that they could be short of that a normal estate doesn't?

Strange SUK havent called me for 2-weeks now. Probably because the first thing I ask them is who have they spoken to at the Factory to sort this out.

Perhaps we do need to organise ourselves into a group to put pressure on. There are 2 others waiting for VRSs at my dealer that don't use Briskoda, so I guess there must be a quite a few of us in the same position.

I too looked at alternatives. The Mazda6 Estate does offer similar space but much bigger car externally, more like a Passat/Mondeo/Superb. It doesn't have good residuals for PCP and the lack of spare put me off too.

It isn't just estates on a long wait, although they may be worse overall.  My hatch was ordered 18 December and won't be built for a few more weeks.  I'm looking at 25-26 weeks order to collection.  Hatch manual tsi only extra is sunset glass so nothing to trigger an extra long wait.  They just can't meet demand.

But, neiln, at least you have an idea when it will be built and you ordered 3-weeks after me and I still have no idea. BUT that still seems better than being told BW35 for a December order!

Last I heard it was 17-weeks for a VRS hatch and 28-weeks for a VRS Estate. Non-VRS are 12-16 weeks I think. But that should be if you order now. I was expecting 16-weeks. Skoda should honour earlier orders with earlier build dates than new orders or explain the hold up. If they said to me your order was delayed because we can't get silver stitched seats, or one of my options until a date I could at least make an informed decision whether to wait or remove/change option.

I do have a few options specced but I got such a good offer for trade-in/discount that came in well under £300/month target I loaded it up. But even then its not all the options I've seen others get.

Mine is:-

Candy White TDI DSG Estate

Anthracite Geminis

Silver Stitching

Black Pack

Sunset Glass

Cruise Control (not ACC)

Winter pack

Electric Tailgate

Pano Roof

Colour maxi-dot

Variable Boot Floor

Spare Wheel

Simply Clever Pack

I did want to change the colour to Laser White, but my dealer couldn't get the system to accept it.

I have a trip to Le Mans Classic planned first weekend in July. I'm plannig to take a couple of bikes with me in the car. Looking increasingly likely I'm not going to be able to do that.

Might try to borrow the dealers VRS demo!

From what I can tell the options make no difference whatsoever. It is purely chance.

Sorry I didn't mean to imply I was the worst off. I agree with what you say. Just used my own example as a hatch owner to be, there are all sorts of odd and 'unfair' waits.

Apology back too. I wasn't implying that you were implying you were worse off! We are all in the same situation.

Ordered 18th December

VRS Diesel Estate Corrida Red with Sunset privacy glass, Towbar preparation, Amundsen with Satellite navigation system, Heated washer nozzles, Cruise control, Black design pack, Simply clever pack, Leather - Black with red stitching + heated front seats, USB Connection.

Originally given a dealer stock date of 11/04/2014, then 30/04/2014, now 31/05/2014. I still have my VW so although frustrating not a huge problem. Idealy would like before end of may as Tax due on VW then!

I'm in the same position. Ordered a TDi vrs estate on 16th Dec with a few options. Was told 20weeks for delivery, on the back of this we booked family camping holiday in Cornwall for the first week of June.

Now looking like that isn't going to happen, I've asked for a lease car/hire car just for that one week but heard nothing as yet. If I can't get one I will be cancelling my order. My dad has just taken delivery of a new Audi A4... He had to wait 4 weeks!!! I've waited 4 months and still have no idea what month to expect it. Will it even be on a 14 plate?!

Getting increasingly frustrated and think that Skoda might be losing another customer.

Ordered my vRS estate with a few extras including the 19" Xtremes and sat nav today and told August/September. Ordered from Lex who told me they get preferential delivery due to the amount of cars they order. Doubt that's correct but not overly bothered as I've got my current vRS until the date it comes even if that's in the winter.

It can go one of two ways with lease companies - either they do get a larger allocation because they sell* more of them, or else they get bumped down the list completely.  When the Evoque first came out, a friend looked at one for a company car, but was told he'd have to wait 18 months for one - as opposed to 4-5 months for a private purchase - because Land Rover were only supplying cars for retail, not lease to start with.

More than likely I'll be waiting until Christmas! Not fussed in the slightest though as I'm in no rush

Unbelievable! Finally get to pick up my car after 23 weeks and the interior is the Silver and not the red as ordered!!!! Drives and does look good but how can they get that wrong!
