Mk3 Octavia VRS Petrol 300bhp Stage 2 coming soon

Featured Replies

To compliment the Stage 1 upgrades that we have already released, we have been working with Milltek Sport on their Golf 7 GTI to develop a Stage 2 along with their exhaust system.

With the Stage 1 upgrade packing an approximate 50bhp increase, we were hoping to see increases to 300bhp along with the Milltek turbo-back 3" exhaust.

We have spent many hours perfecting the software for our FSR+ module and are pleased to announce that on Milltek's car we reached a safe 312bhp coupled with 450Nm torque. The car retains its smooth, driveable nature when driving normally, but now the car has a much more sporting nature above 4,000rpm.

The Milltek exhaust for the Octavia III VRS is being developed as we speak, and we hope to have details on this very soon.

For any information about our FSR+ tuning module, or the Stage 1 or forthcoming Stage 2 upgrade for the Octavia, please give us a call on 01623 332233

  • Some rather bold statements in this thead, this one epitomises them for me.   The front brakes (where most of the braking happens) are the same as the 300PS 8V S3, 340x30mm. The Octavia and Golf sh

  • And then bring it to us for a boost to 350-370?

  • I applaud what Ben and Andrew are developing and offering. There will always be the anti people on every forum, but it's good for us owners to have the choice. Shame we keep getting the same old knock

Would be a cheap 300hp car. However not sure id want that power going through the front wheels without a diff.

Yes correct 300bhp is a lot with out diff.

The Mk7 GTI has a performance pack with a very good diff lock that is highly rated by the press reviews. 300bhp would work with that car...

How much are we talking for the zorst? :-) will they be doing a resonated/no - resonated version and could you possibly get a few pics/videos?

Package deal would also be nice on the box and zorst......

The exhaust is being developed right now, so I'm not sure what the pricing will be. There should be some news soon which I'll certainly update this thread with. Thanks!

300bhp VRS coming soon to a hedgerow near you, a tad to much i think in my humble opinion.

That sort of power through FWD and no diff would be useless IMO. That's why the Audi S3 / VW Golf R have 4WD. Is the transmission and the rest of the running gear, (drive shafts etc) up for that much power? I doubt it.

I think it'll be fine on the open road.

Like when you are doing 40 or 50 mph and want to accelerate brisky to err... 70mph. ;)

But on a twisty B road or away from low speed you're going to see some serious traction issues IMO, like out of every slow/medium speed corner.

But that doesn't mean it's bad.  300bhp from a stock Octy engine is good.

It's just the rest of the car and the lack of the optional diff questions the usability IMO.

I'd like to see a package including a trick diff.

300 hp is perfectly usable as long as you don't go around everywhere with a lead foot. Feed the power in and you can limit wheelspin. The 4wd is good for 0-60 pub talk figures and traffic light races but on the road in normal day to day driving 300 hp is usable.

Mtm also offer a package which promises 300 bhp and 450 torques but it's 1100 sterling plus vat. As far as wear and tear I always look at it the following way. I drive the motor sedately the most of the time with the odd blast when it is safe to do so. Compare this to someone who drives the car hard on a more frequent basis and IMO parts will wear very similarly. I've used this ethos in tuning and driving a dozen cars and half a dozen bikes and never had any problems.

I suspect huge understeer and traction issues and would worry about using that much power and torque through running gear designed for significantly less. I'll stay with RWD for power and driver satisfaction thanks

I ran a Golf Edition 30 with similar power. It's a pussy cat. Don't treat the accelerator like it's an on/off switch and you will be fine.  :)

300bhp is perfectly usable for FWD. You just need to be more cautious with your right foot within 1st and 2nd, and probably also with 3rd in the wet. In-gear acceleration should be very nice indeed, where it will be noticed far more than for 0-60 sprints. The Octy does have a modern front diff, just not the fancy pants one which is optional on the Golf.

Looking at the power curves, it all looks as if the programming has been designed to make it quite driveable, as there are no sudden peaks and the additional grunt appears in the upper ranges, where the stock tails off a bit.

yes, if someone was daft with it, then it may be a handful, but fed in sensibly, it should be okay. A trick diff would be very nice at some point in the future, but I fear retrofit costs may be a lot.

Well done Shark.

My brother has a 363bhp (07) leon cupra. On wet days, its useless and spins through to 5th gear. In the dry, feeding the power in it is very effective (stills spins if not driven progressively).

300 in a VRS, would be similar, plenty fun but cautious approach.

Stupid Question - Will the exhaust also fit the diesel?

Very impressive Shark, keep up the good work & if you can get the 1.4 TSI upto 200PS I'll even have your babies

As for those that comment on traction and understeer issues, welcome to the ragged edge, now go learn to drive LOL

I know how to drive, thanks - that's why I don't like too much power through the front wheels. I'm used to a 400 bhp sports car - with RWD. You need a powerful car to handle properly, and asking the front wheels to transmit all the power and steer simply doesn't work.Too much of a compromise. Ever wondered why really powerful and fast cars aren't front wheel drive? Ever heard of a BMW "M" car, a Ferrari or Porsche with front wheel drive? Even a comparatively low powered proper sports car like the Porsche Boxster? I rest my case.

Conservative power upgrades to a car are fine but when you are talking about the significant increase in power and torque mentioned here you need to consider more than just the engine - brakes, suspension, tyres, transmission everything. My sports car has an OEM engine upgrade, but that includes, apart from the internal engine modifications different brake pads, suspension settings, traction control and stability management system, exhaust system, engine cooling,  oil cooler upgrade etc.

And that is only a 23bhp increase on 385bhp...but then that is how it is done correctly, even if for only 23 bhp it could be argued as "over the top". and here we are talking about an 80bhp upgrade on 220 bhp without doing anything else it is frankly a joke.

Not stupid at all, indeed it will, and it'll even be twin exit! ;)

Looks great mate. Exhaust is interesting for our Tdi.

Let's hope a stage 2 comes for the S3 too ;)

Could be better holding fire for someone like myself fitting a milltek to the tsi and offering the tsi standard exhaust up for sale for a lot cheaper. Not sure if the diesel would make full benefit of a system tuned for a petrol car (noise wise) at least

Typical polarised views on here.

All I can say is that I drove a Shark stage one MK2 Octavia VRS with 250bhp and it never felt unsafe. The power was progressive and the torque even.

I have no reason to believe that Ben would develop an undriveable map and if I had a MK3 it would be the first place I would go to for one.

Mat

Just as well order a Golf GTI R and get 300 bhp with 60000 mile 3 year warranty and with 4WD.
